I nod. I might orgasm from watching him like this.

“Good. I can’t wait to see you dressed up tonight. We need to leave with Nico. He’s dropping me at my meeting and then he’s taking you where I’ve planned.”

We drop Beckett off at a more traditional, business-style building. As soon as he gets out, I ask Nico, “Where are we going?”

“I’m under strict orders not to tell you.”

“He’s not going to make meshopis he?” I can’t help but say it like it’s a dirty word.

Nico smiles. “I think you’ll like the afternoon he planned for you. In fact, I know you will.”

“Hey, Nico, what’s going on with you and Glinda?”

I notice him stiffen. “Nothing. She’s an incredible woman. We’re friends.”

“I know, but don’t you want to be more than friends? You should ask her out.”

“I don’t think Mr. Windsor would like that.”

“Why not? He loves his mom, and he adores you.”

“I can’t jeopardize my job, ma’am.”

I think I need to talk to Beckett about this. I can’t imagine he’d begrudge his mom and Nico their happiness.

I sit back and take in the gorgeous city as we drive through it. We eventually head up a big hill, pulling into what appears to be some kind of park. It’s definitely not a shopping area, which makes me happy.

When the car stops, an adorable, warm, older man opens the door with a big smile. In heavily accented English, he asks, “Ms. Tremaine?”

“Yes.”

He holds out his hand for me. “Prego. I’m Mario. Welcome to Savello Park.”

I take his hand as he helps me out of the car. Nico opens the window. “Mario will take care of you. I’ll be back for you in a few hours.”

“Okay. Thanks, Nico.”

Mario loops his arm through mine. “Do you know where we are?”

I motion toward the sign. “Other than the name, no.”

“Savello Park is also known asGiardino degil Aranci, the Garden of Oranges. It’s considered one of the most romantic, picturesque places in all of Rome.” He points tothe lining of trees. “Not only are the orange trees majestic, wait until you see the view of the city.”

The small park is gorgeous with all the trees lining the edges. It’s like they were placed there for purely aesthetic reasons and grown to absolute perfection. I feel as though I’m looking at a painting come to life.

We make our way to the edge of this small park, and I gasp. The views overlooking all of Rome are simply spectacular. You can see for miles.

I turn and notice an easel and several painting supplies. I smile. He understands me. He arranged for me to paint all afternoon. I think I fall just a little harder for Beckett Windsor in that moment.

I look around and realize we’re alone. The park is empty. “This must be a public park. Where are all the people?”

He gives me a coy smile. “Mr. Windsor must know someone pretty high up because the park is closed to everyone except you this afternoon.”

Yep, the freakin’ president of Italy. That’s who he knows.

Mario points to a table of fruit and refreshments. “Should you get hungry or thirsty. I’ve also left you several buckets of water for your paintbrushes. I’ll be on the bench over there. Just call if you need me.”

“Thank you, Mario.”
