“Why don’t we find somewhere quiet after we get out drinks?” Logan suggested.

Miles nodded and swallowed.

Wyatt’s expression turned complicated when he saw the proprietary way Logan was touching Miles. “Yeah, I think you can forget that idea.” He indicated something on the other side of the bar.

“Yoohoo!” a man shouted jovially from across the room.

Logan stared. It was Hunter. He wasn’t alone.

Miles’s face fell at the sight of the men seated around three tables that had been pushed together.

“Did you know they’d be here?” he asked Nathan accusingly.

“Nope.”

They got their drinks and made their way over. Hunter had already magicked extra chairs from somewhere. Logan registered several new faces as he approached, including a couple he’d only ever seen on TV.

Carter Wilson observed Logan curiously when Miles took the seat next to the handsome man with chocolate brown eyes and honey-colored skin beside him. Miles started making introductions.

Elijah Davis-Wilson addressed Logan warmly. “It’s nice to meet you. Miles told me you were a great help to him. I’m glad you’re his new neighbor.”

Logan shook the pastry chef’s hand and sat beside Miles. “It’s nice to meet you too.”

He could guess why Miles and Elijah had hit it off and become good friends. The chef had a soothing presence.

“You’re back from your shoot,” Miles told Carter.

Carter grimaced. “It’s only a short break. I’m leaving town again next week.”

Lines wrinkled Miles’s brow. “Will you be here for Christmas?”

“Yes.” Carter’s expression softened as he gazed at Elijah. “I wouldn’t miss Christmas with my husband and my daughter for the whole world.” He smiled at Miles. “And you. This Christmas is going to be extra special.”

Elijah clasped his husband’s hand.

Emotion darkened Miles’s eyes.

Logan knew being with his friends for the festivities for the first time in over a decade would mean the world to him too.

Miles introduced the rest of the men.

Logan nodded to James Lang and Finn West. “Hi.”

Finn nodded back. “Hi.” He indicated the sappy-faced Carter and Elijah with his beer bottle. “Sorry about the PDA. You’ll get used to it.”

“Hey,” James greeted a little guardedly.

Tristan dipped his chin at Logan. The mechanic looked more at ease than the last time they’d met.

Roman Campbell welcomed Logan with a friendly smile.

The man beside the rockstar studied Logan warily.

“Drake,” Logan said lightly.

“Logan,” Drake muttered.

Alex rolled his eyes. “How about you put your caveman attitude away?”
