Logan could tell from a few faces around the table that not everyone was thrilled at this news. Some of the color had drained from Izzy’s face. She was staring at him and Miles with the strangest expression.

Logan steeled himself. Having to deal with the Terrible Seven would put the fear of God into almost anyone. Another man might have turned tail and ran out of the bar.

But Logan wasn’t just another man. He took hold of Miles’s hand.

Time to make some things clear.

“Like Nathan said, Miles and I have decided to date,” he told the men and woman watching him calmly. “I hope you’ll come to accept me in your circle.”

Miles shot a grateful look at Logan. He squared his shoulders and met his friends’ stunned stares. “Logan is right. We’re dating.”

“Isn’t it a bit too soon for you to be going out with someone?” Drake said stiffly in the fraught hush. “You’ve only just come out of your?—”

“It isn’t.” Miles’s voice turned brittle. “My life has been on hold for twelve whole years, Drake. I can’t stay frozen in the past forever.” His fingers trembled a little in Logan’s hand. “I like Logan.” He gazed at Logan. “He…makes me feel alive in a way I haven’t felt in a really long time.”

CHAPTER14

Logan’s chesttightened at Miles’s confession and the wealth of emotions glittering in his beautiful eyes. He could tell the words Miles had just spoken shocked Izzy and the Terrible Seven.

“Then, I’m happy for you,” Alex said quietly.

A soft smile stretched Wyatt’s mouth. “Yeah.”

Tristan’s gaze swung from Logan to Miles. “You guys look good together,” he grunted.

“More to the point, those clothes really suit you,” Theo told Miles with a warm smile. “I’m glad you picked them for your date.”

“Thanks.” Miles’s ears reddened a little.

Logan turned to Theo, his expression deadpan.

“Thankyou. I’m really looking forward to taking them off him later.”

Theo blinked. Miles sucked in air. Hunter almost fell out of his chair. James’s eyes rounded a little behind his glasses. Carter’s jaw dropped open.

“I like this guy!” Roman chortled.

Finn and Nathan’s shoulders trembled at Drake’s outraged expression. Wyatt and Elijah smiled into their drinks. Tristan and Alex studied Logan with newfound respect.

“I was kidding,” Logan told a red-faced Miles before he could melt into an embarrassed puddle. “We’re sticking to the three-date rule.”

“Yeah, good luck with that,” Roman snorted.

“You’re terrible,” Miles grumbled at Logan.

Logan grinned and pressed a soft kiss his temple. “I’m looking forward to making you blush even harder than you are right now, Mr. Martinez,” he whispered in his ear.

Miles groaned into his drink.

Logan excused himself to go to the rest room a while later.

Drake was waiting for him when he came out.

“Can we talk?” Drake said gruffly.

Logan raised an eyebrow. “Is this an ambush?” He looked up and down the passage. “Are the rest of the guys about to spring out and rough me up?”

Drake made an exasperated sound. “You know, that smart mouth is part of the reason I don’t like you.”
