“Are you guys coming in?” Tristan said through the glass, his face puzzled.

“We—we are,” Miles replied, flustered.

“We will as soon as I get on top of this erection,” Logan muttered under his breath.

Miles hushed him.

“Why don’t you go on ahead?” he told Tristan. “We’ll be there in a second.”

Tristan nodded and disappeared.

Logan exited the vehicle with Miles a short while later, his groin less tight in the confines of his jeans. Pepper and Blue jumped out of the back seat when Miles opened the rear door and started sniffing around Wyatt and Izzy’s front yard.

Wyatt appeared in the entrance when they reached the porch. “You made it.” He smiled when Blue and Pepper came over to greet him and bent down to ruffle their heads. “Thanks for bringing the dogs. Maisie’s gonna go bananas when she sees them.” He straightened and stood aside. “Come on in.”

The sweet smell of sugar and spice teased Logan’s nose when he entered the house with Miles and the dogs. He looked around curiously as Wyatt took their coats and put them in a closet.

A giant Christmas tree decked with lights and baubles dominated a pretty living room visible through an arched doorway on the right. The wall on the left of the hall was covered in picture frames.

Logan wandered over to take a closer look.

The Terrible Seven featured in several of the photographs, their faces bright as they beamed at the camera. The pictures showed them from when they were toothy little troublemakers with scuffed knees all the way to when they became gangly teenagers.

Logan’s chest tightened a little.

Miles had barely changed. He wore a quiet, shy smile in most of the pictures despite the fact that he was surrounded by his friends.

I wonder if he realizes they were looking out for him, even then?

Logan reluctantly dragged his gaze from the photographs. “You and Izzy live here?”

“Yeah.” Wyatt guided them down the passage toward the source of the lively voices filling the house. “We split the upstairs into two wings after our parents left.”

They entered a large kitchen that looked out over a backyard festooned with Christmas lights. Most of the Terrible Seven and their significant other were crowded around the table in the middle of the room.

Alex cooked chicken nuggets and fries at the range while Finn made a salad.

Elijah was putting the finishing touches to an apple pie.

The pastry chef smiled warmly when he saw them. He wiped his hands on a kitchen towel and came over to hug Miles.

“Hey.”

“Hi, Elijah.” Miles sobered at the sight of Drake.

“Miles,” Drake said quietly. He bobbed his head graciously at Logan. “It’s good to see you, Logan.”

Everyone stared. Even Roman gave his fiancé a blank look.

“Who are you and what did you do with the real Drake?” Hunter said suspiciously.

“Ha-ha,” Drake grumbled.

Logan caught the surprised glance Miles aimed his way. He leaned over.

“See? I told you I tamed Yogi Bear,” Logan whispered in Miles’s ear.

Miles swallowed a laugh.
