I glance around the bar hoping to see Sasha’s face. Disappointment spreads through me when I realize she’s not here.

However, I do see a familiar face. Jen, my ex. This is a face I’d rather not see. We were together several years ago and I haven’t seen her in quite a while. I had started to think maybe she had moved. And, right now, I wish she had.

She sees me and gives me a surprised look and a little wave. Shit, now I’m required to go over and say hello.

I tell the guys where I’m going and walk toward her.

“Hi, Jen. How’s it going?”

“Spencer,” she says, flipping her long blonde hair over her shoulder. “It’s been a long time.”

We stand there awkwardly with plastic smiles on our faces. If I could turn around and walk away without coming off as incredibly rude I would.

“Sooo… what have you been up to?” I ask.

“Oh, you know, the usual. Looking to snag a wealthy man. Know any that are available?” she says much too loudly, her voice slurring. Jen was never good at holding her alcohol. However, she’s excellent at holding a grudge.

“Ah, okay. Really don’t want to get into this conversation again. I’ve said all I plan to about what happened between us.”

“Sure. Just run away Spencer. Like you always do. You completely suck, you know that?” She is staring me down now, just asking for a fight. But I’m not giving it to her. This was just one of the reasons I broke up with her. Along with the fact that she just wanted me for my money.

“Okay, then. Hope you have a great night. Might want to slow down on the wine a bit.”

If looks could kill, I would certainly be dead.

I rejoin my buddies who are all about to bust out laughing at my misfortune. Apparently, they could hear Jen from all the way over here.

“Dude, that girl was not having any of your shit,” laughs Josh.

“I went over to be nice and say hi. If I’d known she was going to bite my head off I would have happily stayed over here,” I say, shrugging.

“Well, your relationship had a rocky ending. And then she stalked you online for months, didn’t she?” Greg asked.

“Yea. I finally had to call her out on it. Guess that pissed her off a tad.”

We all laugh, shaking our heads.

The end of my relationship with Jen had been entertainment for this crew for months after it happened.

Running into her is the perfect end to my fucked-up week.

I stay for another drink and then head home, happy to have escaped from Jen’s dirty looks.

When I get home, I am surprised to see that she’s texted me.

It was good to see you tonight. Sorry I was so rough on you.

I hesitated, not knowing whether to respond. Maybe she genuinely feels bad and wants to bury the hatchet?

No worries. Can we put it all behind us?

Sure. And speaking of behind… Would love to feel you behind me right now. Pushing that huge cock into my pussy.

Oh, fuck. Shouldn’t have replied. I knew it. She must be wasted.

That’s probably not a good idea, Jen.

Fuck you, Spencer.
