I greeted him as well but just as I glanced at Lucien’s door his eyes widened as though he had just realized something.

“Does he have guests?” I asked.

“Well…” he hesitated. “He’s expecting some in the next few minutes.”

“Oh how lucky,” Sophie said. “So she can go in now?”

“Just a second,” he said as he sat back down and picked up the phone.

“Sir?” he called and my heart began to race. We spent all of our time together after work and he had given me the sweetest kiss before leaving earlier that morning. Yet, I was still so wreaked with nerves at getting to see him. This was his empire and he was the king of it and I, his queen and there was nothing more exhilarating. I was so turned on that my clit began to throb.

James eventually put the phone down and then he nodded. “Please go in.”

“Later Scar,” Sophie said and turned around to leave but I was a bit surprised.

“You’re leaving? Don’t you want to go say hello together?”

She was amused. “He’s my boss, not my fiancé.”

“But he’s your soon-to-be brother-in-law,” I said but she shook her head.

“Not within these hours, and you were his assistant; you should know he doesn’t like social visits during the day.”

“Yeah, that’s why I need you with me you were the one who suggested it.”

“You don’t need me. You’re probably the only one he will accept to see socially right now.”

Sighing, I nodded and she went on her way.

My nerves came back as I stared at his door for a second and then I knocked lightly and headed it.

I met him hard at work at his desk with his attention on the open file before him on the desk.

I stopped for a moment to admire him just as he signed a document and then the softest, most intimate smile spread across his lips at the sight of me.

It made him look like a dream, and for quite a while, I couldn’t stop staring.

"Hey, beautiful," he said, and I headed over. A few seconds later, I was seated on his lap with his tongue in my mouth. Ittook a while for us to break away from that, and by the time we parted, I was out of breath but in the best way.

"I was expecting your pictures from the wedding store," he said, and I smiled guiltily.

"I know, I thought I was going to send them, but after seeing the dresses, I decided that I wanted to keep it a secret. I’ll wait until the day for you to see me."

"Alright," he said. "But if you need any help-"

"I know," I replied.

I looked around the office and even though it was unfamiliar to me in a way it still felt a bit strange.

“Have you had lunch?” he asked.

“No,” I replied. “I was about to stop to pick up some on my way back. Have you? Do you want to join me?”

I was immediately hopeful but he shook his head and refused.

“I have a meeting soon,” he said and I recalled that his assistant had mentioned it.

“That’s right,” I said and got up from his lap.
