“You clean up nice.” Vance smiles as he plants a kiss on Jade’s head.
“Thanks for the shirt and the alone time.” I reach out my hand, and Vance grasps it tightly in his before pulling me in for a one-armed hug.
“Don’t mention it. I have a feeling these two were going to find a way to get the two of you alone whether I helped or not.”
“I have a feeling you’re right.” I attempt to turn toward the kitchen before Jade grabs my arm and pulls me toward the living room.
“Everything is fine. I set the table and grabbed one of the bottles of wine you bought and put it in the fridge.” I give her a quizzical look before she clarifies, “Uncle Vance chose the wine, and I put it in the fridge, but don’t worry, it’s all done.”
“I wasn’t worried until you mentioned your uncle Vance.” I sit down on the couch just as the doorbell rings, signaling their arrival.
“Now it’s too late. Just relax. Uncle Vance, you head out to the truck, and I’ll be right behind you.”
“Thanks for the help, Squirt.” I grip her by the arm as she tries to scurry by, pulling her into a hug.
“Anytime,” she mumbles before hugging me back quickly and heading for the door.
Jade and Love are trying to help us spend time alone together, but I’m still unsure of where Audrey stands on the subject. I’ve known since the first moment I laid eyes on her that she’d be mine, but I need to figure out how to get her on the same page as me.
I hear footsteps coming my way as I push up off the couch and head in that direction, catching a glimpse of Audrey as she turns the corner and heads toward me. She has on a delicious pair of jeans that hug all her curves and a top that shows off just enough skin. Her gaze flicks to mine, as if I’ve called her name, and she pulls her lip between her teeth before dropping her head downward.
“Hey.” Her breath hitches as our gazes meet again, and her caramel-colored eyes sparkle with the same need that burns like fire in my veins. “It seems our dinner with the girls isn’t happening.”
“Yeah. Vance asked if Jade could go to the movies with him and have a sleepover at his place. Did Love not tell you?” I chuckle softly as her eyes snap up to mine. A delicious shade of pink runs down her neck, disappearinginto the top of her shirt and leaving me to wonder how far the color goes.
“She did, but not until we parked in your driveway. I have a feeling those two set us up.”
“You’d be right,” I breathe, my eyes wandering down her body as I stride toward her. Her eyes widen slightly as her hand tightens on the strap of her bag. I continue to inch closer; her eyes scan my body, as if committing it to memory before flicking back to my own.
“You look beautiful,” I grunt, brushing my thumb across her bottom lip as I lean forward, my eyes focused on hers.
“Thank you,” she whispers as I wrap my arm around her waist, pulling her against me.
We stare at each other for a few moments, waiting for the other to make the first move. I’m hanging on by a thread, the need to claim her lips almost overwhelming as she leans forward and brushes her lips against mine.
Electricity zips through my body as an unknown force pulls us closer together.
“You don’t look too bad yourself,” she mumbles against my mouth before nibbling on my bottom lip and running her tongue along it, begging for entrance.
“Thanks,” I groan before threading my fingers into her hair and crushing our lips together.
Our lips mold together in sync, as if we’ve done this a million times. My tongue gently caresses the seam of her lips, begging for entrance as my free hand grips the back of her neck, eliciting a loud moan of pleasure from her. Iplunge my tongue into her mouth, as if I’m trying to devour her whole. Fire burns in my veins as she slides her hands up my chest, wraps her arms around my neck, and pulls herself closer to my body.
“Audrey,” I groan, nibbling on her lower lip. She leans her head back, giving me better access to her neck. I waste no time licking the curve of her throat, getting my first taste of her sweet skin. I grip her leg and pull it up slightly. She thrusts her warm center into my aching cock, causing both of us to groan in pleasure before lowering her leg back to the ground and taking a step back. Both of our chests heave as we come down from whatever happened a few moments ago. Her brown skin is flushed a beautiful shade of pink as my eyes zoom in on the red marks along her skin where I tasted her.
“I’d apologize, but I’m not sorry. I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit dreaming about kissing you again.”
Audrey ducks her head. “Thanks, I’ve never received a welcome like that before.”
I step closer to her and place my finger under her chin, raising it slightly. “I’ll make a habit of it.”
She gives me a bright smile before responding, “I look forward to it.”
I capture her lips with mine again before her belly rumbles, causing both of us to laugh. I lace our fingers together, placing a kiss on her hand. “Let’s get you fed. The girls did a lot of scheming to give us time alone together. I don’t want it to go to waste.”
When we get closer to the table, I drop her hand andpull her chair out for her. She gives me another shy smile before taking a seat. “Such a gentleman.”
“You’d be surprised at the ungentlemanly thoughts I’m having about you at this moment.” I give her a wink before taking the seat next to her. “Hope you like steak.”
