Cerdic picked me out regular clothes too and shot Sisay a shit look before taking my hand and pulling me behind the partition. “I’m not copying Sisay. This was my separate idea.” He waited until I nodded. “I found us a small chocolate factory. I thought we could make chocolates and decorate them, but then also harvest some cacao and—we have all the sweet teeth.”
“That would be fun, and it’s different than Sisay’s idea.” I tried on the outfit for him and he kissed my cheek, thanking me for giving him a chance.
Petre had a comfy outfit for me and asked for another movie night.
Vitor had a fancy dress for me with very pretty lingerie for under it. He asked me to have dinner and go dancing with him. He knew it wasn’t my favorite thing, but he loved it and wanted the chance to dance with me… Even if I danced on his feet.
It was sweet. I liked it, and I wanted to have dinner with him all dressed up.
James went next and sighed. “I’m going to break the rules and not tell you the date.” He moved me behind the partition when I went to pull away and then he kneeled. “I’m asking to date you, Inez. I can’t promise the whole oath and forever, but I cannot live without you. I was miserable the weeks I was gone and not near you.
“That’s what I wanted to come back and tell you, but I’d waited too long and you were validly hurt. So I want to take you on—it was the date young James always wanted to go on with a pretty girl, and you are the prettiest girl I never thought I could have a date with. Will you go out with me?”
My lower lip quivered as I stared into his eyes. “Really? You really mean it this time?”
“I do, sexy bite,” he whispered as he took my hand in his and kissed it. “Everything blew up and it seemed all or nothing and I can’t commit to all. So I kept—I’m done being lost in my head and listening to everyone else. This is just us—about us. Only we matter, and I want to date you. Can we just start there?”
I thumped him on the head with my free hand. “I said that so many times, you stupid, stupid cat.”
“Yeah, I am,” he agreed, rubbing his head. “Can I take you out, Inez?”
“Yes.”
He stood and kissed my cheek before giving me a tight hug, letting out a shaky breath as he did. “I picked an outfit for you. I don’t want to see it until Friday night. I’ll get everything set up for then. Nothing but a goodnight kiss maybe, okay?”
Oh wow, he meant like really just date and slow down. I swallowed a shiver, wanting that too. “Fine, but you better do it right after taking so long, stupid.”
“I will,” he promised before moving us back out by the others.
Last, but certainly not least, was my Kristof. I raced over to him and jumped so he caught me and swung me around.
“Yes. My answer is yes no matter what you want to do,” I promised as I kissed him.
He chuckled against my lips. “We already have a promised date that kept getting pushed back. I want us to have dinner at my old house now that I’ve refreshed the inside.”
“Yes.” I smiled down at him and peppered kisses all over his face. “Yes. Of course.”
He set me on my feet and showed me the outfit he picked out.
“No.”
“No?” he whispered.
“No, this isn’t what my husband really wants me to wear.” I smirked at him as I picked up the outfit and tossed it aside. “I know what my husband wants. I’ll pick something out just for him.” I licked my lips and studied him. “Saturday night?”
“As my wife wishes,” he agreed, moving closer and snaking his arm around me. “You are telling me no too often.”
I smiled up at him. “Because I can. I trust you enough to.” I worried my lower lip and then glanced around. “Like I trust you now to do whatever you want to me.”
He licked his lips and a feral look filled his eyes. “I will go last. Let them all go first.”
“Yes, my husband,” I purred before giving him a kiss. I glanced around and decided to start with Cerdic since I did trust him and he was safe.
He gave me a wink before leaning down and cupping my cheek and kissing me. “I just want to kiss the sexiest woman I’ve ever been near. I miss kissing you most.”
We kissed again and it was intense but not too much.
He pulled away and turned me around, giving me a pat on the butt as he sent me over to Sisay. The vampire chuckled and gave me a hug before sending me on my way to Jaxon.
