He licked his lips. “Give me what you give your husband any time he wants and I’ll go finish in the shower with a strong heart knowing Branko can’t steal you from me.”

“Stupid man. No one could steal me,” I chuckled before reaching for his fly. I sucked on him, fully knowing what he was talking about and like always, my husband was hard and ready to go.

He stopped me after I bobbed my head several times. “I’m a spoiled man. I will finish in our shower. Now go let him seduce you and enjoy your night with him.”

“I’ll tell you all about it in the morning. Have fun hunting. You’re going with someone, right? We’re still on the buddy system rules.”

He chuckled, realizing he couldn’t pull a fast one on me. “Yes, a bunch of us old farts are going to go let the monsters out. We’ve been too busy handling this and that and ‘adulting’ as you young ones say. We need a good long hunt.”

“You want my blood?” I checked, glad when he nodded and would pull corrupted out to them instead of risking going into something where they could be trapped.

I left it for him once I was dressed and ready. Then I realized I wanted him to see me all pretty before my date did.

“You waited so I didn’t miss such a sight, right?” he checked when he came out in a towel.

“I wanted to see you looking so sexy as well,” I answered, with a wink.

“You are breathtaking. Even more than normal.”

I gave him a quick kiss and then hurried off before he threw me on the bed and had me like his eyes were promising.

“You’re meeting him directly there,” Vitor informed me as he stepped on the elevator with me. Risa was waiting for us at the bottom and greeted us, sharing a joke with Vitor.

I headed for the door, but suddenly Vitor was in front of me with a gobsmacked look on his face.

“You’re jealous. Of me. You’re jealous about me.”

“No, the princess would never be that silly when I only like women,” Risa defended, shooting me a look that she clearly knew I’d been miffed at how friendly they were.

Hey, in my defense, they’d been spending a lot of time all over taking down buildings and turning things to energy beads. That was… Fine, I’d been miffed. Whatever.

“Aren’t we supposed to be somewhere?” I asked Vitor as I moved into him, making it clear he should carry me.

“Thank you, My Princess,” he breathed as he lifted me up and held me tightly.

I didn’t even have a chance to think of what to reply and already we were at our destination. I gasped when I was steady and could look around. It was some sort of a pier restaurant with lights strung up and all kinds of pretty. It was still sunlight out since we would be back at the castle when it was time for corrupted to come out, but the ambiance was great.

And Branko looked delicious in his suit. Wow.

“You look more beautiful than all of the stars in the sky, Inez,” he greeted, smiling when I flinched. “Our table is ready.”

I chuckled, only one table was set up with very comfy looking chairs instead of the metal ones I’d seen at restaurants as I’d passed them during my travels. He got me situated with a kiss to my cheek and then sat across from me.

I smiled when the twins came out with carts, clearly roped into this. I saw Eddie as well, and that was a bit awkward given what we’d learned. I hadn’t really had a chance to say anything to him yet.

He came over and kissed my hair. “I’m still always on your team, my friend. Us baby vamps have to stick together.”

“Yeah, we do,” I agreed, smiling up at him. “Did you get the update on—”

“Nope, no business tonight. Tonight you’re on a date with my other friend, so I’m here to make sure it goes perfect even if I have to beat people up.”

It was hard not to laugh at that, Branko snickering a bit too.

Dinner was amazing. Steamed lobsters and fancy appetizers and salad. No wine or alcohol, only flavored sparkling water that he’d worked out with Nick. I loved it but still asked, and he said he wanted to make sure our heads were clear and only full of each other.

Wow.

We walked along the pier after we finished and watched the sun finish setting. The moment it was down enough for the corrupted, he carried me back to the castle and let everyone know I was safe and home.
