Avalar shook her head. “You do not know him.”

“How can I—?” Quaia cut herself off. “He’s from a docked ship,” she said, pointing at Avalar. “Come on, Avalar, tell me!”

Avalar smiled and moved her hands in a Voklish way that was a call for calm. “I’ll tell you later, I promise. If it works out.”

“But you want to go now?”

“Yes,” Avalar admitted.

Quaia smiled. “Suns. Of course, fine.” She threw herself on her back again. “Someone should be getting what they desire.”

Avalar left, smiling her queer, knowing smile again.

CHAPTER 21

She expected Avalar when, barely an hour later, there was a timid knock at the door.

“Don’t tell me you struck oouuuuu—” she began, opening the hatch.

Her words fell away in an incomprehensible sound. It was him. Torian.

His musky, male scent reached her nose first, intoxicating her. Longing—all of it that she’d been pushing down deep inside her—rushed like a flood, violent and churning, into all of her limbs and her abdomen, filling her chest until it felt like it would burst.

“Torian,” she whispered, stepping back. She’d dreamed of and longed for this moment all this time; all the time waiting on the station, before and after her accident. Now that it was here, she didn’t know what to do.

Oddly enough, her eyes filled with tears. “Why did you make me wait for you so long?” she whimpered.

Torian was very serious, and the intensity of his demeanor made her stomach lurch and fear crawl into her bloodstream. His eyes were locked on hers and burning with such an intensity it made her shiver—but intensity of what kind?

She instinctively stepped backward as he stepped into the room and shut the hatch loudly.

“I’ve been waiting forever,” she complained again, a tear falling from her eye. “I don’t understand.”

Why wasn’t he speaking? Frustration, which had been running high inside her all this time, bubbled over. She wanted to beat her fists against his chest, and her body was in motion to do it before she could stop herself.

But Torian caught her wrists before she could even throw her first punch. His grip was gentle but iron-clad, and she gave up easily, almost melting into him. She collapsed against his chest and sobbed. “Why haven’t you come? Why… I was so… worried.”

Torian’s fingers moved in her hair, calming her instantly. A new surge of emotion swelled within her, turning to lust almost as quickly as the anger dissipated.

“I had to make you wait,” Torian growled, “because I couldn’t bear to see you…”

Quaia lifted her head, confused and suddenly infuriated again.

“…without doing what I’ve been longing to do since you were taken from me so abruptly,” Torian finished.

Quaia’s lips trembled. Now, a much different feeling was spreading throughout her body. Torian still had her wrists, and he moved her backward, toward the bed, while staring into her eyes.

“I knew that if I saw you,” Torian growled, his voice hungry, “I wouldn’t be able to stop myself. And I wanted you in good health.”

“For what?” Quaia whispered.

“For what I am about to do to you,” Torian said in a feral voice that made Quaia’s pussy fill with juices and throb.

“What’s that?” Quaia whispered.

“With your consent, Quaia Sangsen, I am going to taste you until you are ripe and cannot take any more, and then I am going to mate with you, until I breed you. And then I am going to take you to your new home, where I will do this to you again and again.”

Quaia sucked in her breath. “And if I don’t consent?”
