Then they went outside and Levka was hugging a visible Caitlin and kissing her. Fiona smiled. She was glad Caitlin was safe and the couple was back together again.

What she couldn’t believe was Levka was standing next to a black limousine, and it was their ride.

They climbed into it. The black-haired chauffeur was about to shut the door when the two vampires who had been on the plane, their bags in hand, tried to get into the limo.

“Private conveyance, ma’am, sir,” the chauffeur said, holding his hand out to stop them.

“They’re going to want us with them,” the man said.

“Who are you?” Levka asked.

“Someone you want on your side.”

“Alright, we’ll bite. Get in.”

“Is that a good idea?” Arman looked like he was worried about Fiona, and she appreciated his concern.

“Yeah,” Levka said. “I’ve called for reinforcements just in case.”

Fiona couldn’t believe how organized the pack of vampires were. She was really enjoying getting to know them and wow, a limousine service? This was out of this world.

She still didn’t trust the new vampire couple in the limousine though. As soon as the chauffer started to leave the airport, Levka asked, “Do you know who we are?”

“Yeah. The four of you are the vampire princes of Wales. Caitlin is a witch. Jasmine is a vampire hunter.” The guy shook his head. “You have formed a strange little group of vampires. And now you have Fiona in your pack who is a huntress, and she’s wanted by some powerful vampires.”

“So what we need to know is who the two of you are,” Levka said. “And how you know all about us.”

“I’m Shelly and this is my brother, Michail,” the woman said.

“How do you know about Fiona?” Arman asked.

“We know Regina and Tobias. We’re not friends of theirs but we learned they had taken Fiona hostage even though she didn’t know that she was their hostage,” Shelly said. “And that Fiona had some ability that they wanted to control. We just learned about the curse and the blood moon.”

“Why didn’t you come to my aid then?” Fiona asked, sounding suspicious, just like Arman felt about them and their motives.

Michail nodded. “By the time we learned what was going on with you and where you were located, Arman was trying to grab Fiona at her high school Halloween dance. We followed her home, but Tobias was watching out the window and we knew with just the two of us, we couldn’t fight him. We couldn’t believe you grabbed her at the high school the next day. We never thought all of you would pretend to be high school students. It was a brilliant move, really.”

No one in their little pack looked like they were buying the whole scenario, but they were politely listening.

“And you’re here now, why?” Ruric asked.

“To help you,” Michail said.

“Help us,” Stasio said.

“Yeah. I know you probably don’t feel you can trust us, but we saved Fiona’s brother. We knew he wasn’t Fiona’s blood relation, but we also knew that Regina and Tobias would want to eliminate him too. They planned to kill everyone in the family so that they would be able to convince Fiona that she had no one in the world who was left that she could trust,” Shelly said.

“Where is Justin?” Fiona asked, sounding desperate to believe them.

* * *

Arman couldn’t believe these two vampires were here, coming to aid them, so what exactly was their deal? Did they have an agenda? Everyone usually had an agenda.

“Justin is safe here in Scotland, actually,” Michail said. “He’s human, so he’s a lot more vulnerable to suggestion than…say…you are. We told him he was to go to Scotland because he won a lot of money and was staying at a Scottish estate. Yours, in fact. We made him forget he was going to college, or he might have resisted the idea.”

“He’s in Scotland?” Fiona asked, sounding shocked.

“Yes. We knew Levka and his team of vampires would take you there,” Shelly said. “Which is why we headed for Scotland after we learned the rest of you had taken Fiona from the high school. Of course, we thought you might go to Dallas to find your brother, or more news of him so we made a detour there.”
