Then she felt faint, as the events of the past several days hit her all at once, and relief overtook her. As she slumped backward, nearly losing her balance, her body caressed the rough, muscular, hard form of Atlas behind her, who embraced her.

She turned toward him and then felt the smoothness of his lips as without warning or ceremony, he kissed her passionately. She felt lost in the moment. She realized that soon she would return to normalcy, living in Forest Crest free of concern, but this was her happiest moment.

“There’s a couple other things,” Atlas said, breaking the kiss.

“Oh?” Harlow commented, her interest piqued.

“When I confronted you and Lauren, I made the biggest mistake of my life,” Atlas said. “She’s out for good. And we were hoping—”

“You might join the pack as a permanent member,” Colt finished weakly.

“You can live with me and Colt together,” Atlas added.

“Yes!” Harlow shouted. “A thousand times, yes!”

Atlas, for a moment, abandoned his stoic persona, and Harlow saw the brightest smile she’d ever seen form on his face. “That’s fantastic!” he said.

Harlow nodded wildly, gleeful in spite of the dank setting in which she found herself, sunlight barely penetrating through the entryway above.

“What was the other thing?” she asked, almost afraid that it might be bad news or some kind of caveat.

A hesitant grin crossed both of their faces, and for a moment, Harlow dreaded the next question.

“Now, this isn’t entirely unconventional,” Atlas said.

“Happens from time to time,” Colt added.

“We both came to the realization that we can’t live without you, and we hope you feel the same,” Atlas said.

“I do,” Harlow said hesitantly.

Atlas and Colt looked at each other, debating whether to say what clearly plagued their minds. “We were hoping that you might marry us,” Atlas said, smiling brightly.

Harlow looked at the two of them, monitoring their faces to look for a cracking smile or hints of a deep, cruel joke. “Both of you?” she asked. “Like, the two of you at once?”

“Well, there’s a bit more to it than that, but essentially yes,” Colt clarified. “The three of us would be joined in a mate bond.”

“So, what do you think?” Atlas asked, unable to hide the anxiousness from his voice.

Harlow liked leaving them in anticipation, reveling in the moment, but she also hated seeing them stress. “Hell yes,” she said.

Chapter 28

Harlow

“You look like a million dollars and more,” said Gwen who had stopped in her tracks and was looking Harlow up and down. “Those are some lucky guys.”

“Hope they feel the same way,” Harlow nervously smoothed her dress as she looked back at herself in the mirror. It had turned out exactly as she’d envisioned—from the beautiful ivory chiffon and the sequin pine leaf embellishments to the plunging neckline.

“I think we both know they will,” replied Gwen.

Harlow placed the last of the pins in her hair, half of her red strands now pinned up while the rest fell ceremoniously over her shoulders in a wonderful contrast to the cream material. She took one last look at herself, knowing despite her nerves, that she was making the best and most important decision of her life.

It was almost unthinkable that she’d left her old pack a year ago, fleeing to a place where she’d find the men she was made to be with. Forest Crest was her home now, the place where she felt safe, secure, and wanted, and she belonged to a pack that respected and looked out for her.

Not only that, but she got to work somewhere that she could use her gifts, continuing with her role at the vet’s half of the week, and acting as the pack healer for the other. Leaving Hollow Grove was the best thing she could have done.

She had friends she could rely on now, Zachary and Gwen being the closest to her, and her relationships with the rest of the pack members and people from town were also flourishing.
