“This was…magical.Youaremagical, Shai.”
An innocent, irrepressible smile spread like the sunrise across her face.
“If I had known…”
He cleared his throat, needing to make his point clear:
“It is just this once, remember.”
She blinked, as if just recalling that their arrangement was for a particular purpose, and that it only took once to succeed.
“But…” she hesitated, biting her lower lip.
“What if I am not with child after this. You said—”
“I keep my promises,” he cut her off gruffly.
He was starting to regret giving this promise.
How could he bear it to make love to her again…
And again…and again?
To give himself like this over and over with no return?
His entire chest squeezed tight as if a mountain was sitting upon him, not a wisp of a woman barely half his size.
Suddenly, she brightened.
“But this night is not over yet,” she said huskily, squeezing her sheath around his hardness.
He hissed at the flare of pleasured-pain, his sore staff ever ready to meet her demands even as his heart burned with an acid fire.
“M-may I have more of you?” she asked haltingly.
“I-if you don’t want me…”
It was the slight stutter that did him in, the uncertainty in her cat-like eyes.
How could he ever deny this woman anything within his power to give?
Even if his heart thrashed bloody and bruised within its cage. Even if his soul wept for more from her than simply physical desire.
“You do not have to ask permission,” was his low, wounded answer.
“Not this night.”
She would never know how much this cost him…
Not as she rode him slowly to another sweaty, shuddering climax for them both.
Not when she took him in her mouth and hands again and swallowed his seed.
Not when he held her on their sides and stroked into her from behind, plucking at her pearl with knowing fingers as he drove her to completion from within.
Not when he stayed inside of her all night as she slept and he remained wide awake.
And not as, with one last kiss to her shoulder, he painstakingly pulled out, before slipping from her bed and dressing for the new day.
