And when I leave this earth, I want to leave with them, wherever we might go next. As long as we are together, we are home, wrapped in each other’s everlasting embrace.
Their witnesses gasped and sighed. A few sniffed with tearful joy.
But Lancelot only had eyes and ears for Arthur, standing tall and true before him, the most magnificent male he’d ever seen.
Will you keep me, my Lance?Arthur asked in his deep, husky voice, even deeper in dragon form.

Lancelot lunged forth and wound himself tightly around Arthur again as he said, clearly and indelibly—

As Sophia promised, a mating ceremony was performed on the garden terrace after everyone had a chance to look after their wounds, clean up a bit and prepare for a feast to celebrate the joining of two soulmates.
Annie sat at a long table and bench enjoying the delicious food and drink, watching the lively celebration around her.
Merlin and Wolfe were laughing with Arthur at something bawdy, it looked like, while Lance stood at Arthur’s side, flushedwith embarrassment. Rui was surrounded by a circle of Pure Ones; they didn’t let her natural aloofness keep her apart.
It was so good to see the family finally reunited, with the past firmly put in the past.
Annie started to get up to go to Red, maybe convince him to dance with her.
He always said he didn’t know how to dance, was too clumsy for it, but she always reminded him that he “danced” extremely well horizontally; it was all in the hips. When he gave in (and he usually did), their dancing very quickly led to retiring to bed early.
Because when one had a dance partner like Red, one tended to dance with no clothes on.
Her wrist com rang at that moment. She popped the attached earpiece into place.
“Annie.”
“Ben!” she greeted happily, and walked to a quieter corner to take the call.
“Where have you been? I haven’t heard from you for far too long.”
“Here and there,” he said obscurely.
“Listen, are you back from the UK tour? Are all of you back?”
“Oh yes,” she confirmed. “I have so much to tell you. We’re all currently at the Shield celebrating Arthur and Lance’s mating!”
There was a pause.
“Wow,” Ben murmured, joy in his voice.
“Is it weird that I’m not surprised?”
“Well, they certainly have chemistry,” Annie said. “It was bound to combust. I just didn’t know it would lead to so much more.”
“Yeah,” Ben agreed. “I’m happy for them. Give them my best.”
“I will.”
“How did you end up at the Shield?” he asked.
