He knows who D’mitri is and what he is.A Killer. He killed Amelia. He butchered her with his machete that he’s known for.He didn’t know we were there. Not even Amelia knew we were there until it was too late.I don’t trust him with Jade. She can handle her own, but he’s twice her size with that evil glint in his eyes. If he could do what he did to Amelia, I can only imagine what he would do to Jade. Hence why, I smacked Spade upside the head for sending the video. He should’ve known better.

That video alone could have gotten Jade killed.

Jameson watched from the darkness in the woods when D’mitri pulled up as much as he despises my Little Minx. I told him to watch her while I was fighting in the ring. I needed to know she was safe, even if a part of me knew Jameson would kill her, too.

This whole situation is fucked. I’m sick of the game we have to play. I can’t stay away from her even though I was ordered to come here. I know what’s at stake, what needs to happen, but what I didn’t expect was to like her, to want and need her. From the moment she held that gun to my face, I knew there was no going back.We are so fucked.

Decisions must be made soon, and I’m still determining what side to pick. We need to figure out how to save her from the mess none of us caused. This agenda Jameson’s Father has with Jade is still unknown, and it’s maddening because we cannot figure out why the families need her. Why is she so important? Luckily, we have somewhat of a plan in the background; at least Spade and I do. I need Jameson to get his facts straight and get over himself. Then we can take her and run.

I’ve never felt this way about any other woman, and Jade’s not like others our age. She’s stunning, gives no fucks, intelligent and witty. Most of all, she takes what she wants when she wants. She never holds back. I know Spade is falling for her. How canyou not? She’s a beautiful mess. Our beautiful mess. A ding from my phone brings me out of my thoughts.

Gio: We are in place. Let us know when it’s GO time.

Dario: Roger That. If you see anything heading our way. Let one of us know. We are armed but lightly. We took the bikes.

Gio: Got it, Boss.

Heading over to the bar, I text the group chat.

Dario: Gio’s men are in place, waiting for our signal. He will give us a heads-up if anything is coming our way.

Spade: Good.

Jameson: I hacked into the electrical pole. I’ll cut the lights on your signal.

Dario: Now we wait. I’ll be over at the bar. Get into position. Make sure Jade is the number one priority. That means you, Jameson. Don’t fuck this up.

Jameson: FUCK YOU. I know dickhead.

Spade: bahahhaha. Jade is always number one. She knows I’m coming for her.

Putting my phone away, I stand a few feet from D’mitri, who is housing tequila shots. He’s a mess. So this should be interesting.I order a beer and lean against the bar top—timeto poke the bear. Eyes are on Jade, so I know she’s safe.Lifting the beer, I guzzle half of it. I pull out a cigarette and light it, taking a deeppull. D’mitri’s back is to me, giving me the upper hand right now. I take a few more drags before my phone dings, and I look to see it’s Gio.Fuck

Gio: Two Devil Incarnates are coming in hot.

Dario: Check.

Switching over to the group chat, I relay the message. I hear the rumble of the bikes. I see Jade’s head whip around to the door and Kayla halting her from losing her shit. She whispers something in her ear, but I’m across the barn and have no idea what is being said.

Waltzing in the barn doors is a set of identical twins. This is the first time I have seen them. One wears glasses and a skully, and the other has a tattoo across his head. They are over six feet tall and loaded with tattoos; your typical biker douche-bags. Jade moves in on them, and I automatically palm my knives. But they scoop her up in a big hug. They must be her brothers or cousins. There’s a family resemblance. Kayla stays back, eyeing them.

One of them makes eye contact with her and smirks. She blushes. So this was Kayla’s call, and there’s something between them. I wonder if Jade knows.Clocking their movement. They reach the bar further down. Not even engaging with D’mitri. That’s odd.I wonder if they will watch him and ensure nothing happens to Jade. Taking the last drag of my cigarette, I stub it out with my boot. Slamming my beer back, I glance at the guys to ensure they are in place. Looking over at Jade, our eyes connect, and I wink at her as I break the bottle over the counter of the bar.

Here. Goes. Nothing.

Darkness & Ambushes

-Jade-

In a matter of seconds, all hell breaks loose; Dario breaks the bottle, approaching D’mitri, whose back is to him. I yell across the room, trying to make it through the crowd, but there are so many people I can’t get a good look.

Fuck, he can’t kill him. Not yet. Only on my terms.

I’m shoving people out of the way. There’s so much noise, screaming, cheering, yelling. The crowd is so thick. Then I hear the gun go off.NO, NO, NO.The lights cut off, and I’m instantly blinded. I don’t like the dark. I’m starting to sweat. My body starts to shake, my pulse pounding in my ears. Being in the dark brings me back to when I was taken, and I don’t want to relive that memory. I can’t seem to take a deep breath. It feels like I’mgoing to suffocate, but right before I start to drown in flashbacks, someone grabs me from behind, and I start thrashing.

“Babygirl, chill, it’s just me. It’s time to get you out of here,” He whispers in my ear.
