“They are coming at us from all ends. How many fucking guards does he have up here, Jesus Christ” Spade yells.

“Just say the word, and I’ll blow this fucker up,” Jade says.

“On my signal, send another flash bang and tear gas. We are close to his room; we just need to buy some time to get him, and then you can blow them up.” Someone approaches me from behind, holding a gun to my head. Jade turns just as the fucker cocks the gun, I turn my head to the left as she pulls the trigger, and the bullet flies past me into the fuckers head. He drops like a ton of bricks. If we weren’t in the middle of saving Jameson, I’d grab this Little Minx and kiss her for saving my ass.

“NOW!!” I command, and Jade takes another tank from her chest, pulling the pin with her teeth and sending it down to our right as Spade rolls a tank of tear gas to the left. We move quickly to Jameson’s room. Open the door, and the fucker is just sitting there watching TV.

“It’s about fucking time!” he states, getting out of bed. I just shake my head because what the fuck.

“It’s good to see you too, brother,” Spade grunts.

“You ready to get the fuck out of here?” I ask. He gives me a look, rolling his eyes. Jade walks up to him, handing him a knife and a gun.

“Jamie?”

“Princess?”

They stand there looking at one another.

“We don’t have time for this. Let’s go.”

“Later, Princess! Now move that fine ass and show me what you got!” he commands.

“Watch me work boys!” She waltzes out of the room, shooting with both of her pistols. We head out the same way we entered. Shooting our way out. I’m almost out of ammo.

“We need a different exit strategy. I’m almost out,” I yell.

“Cover me,” Jade yells, handing me two clips from her waist and reloading her pistols.

“Behind,” she yells. Spinning, I take out three guards.

“Fuck this, RUN,” she screams, pulling a grenade from her pocket, and using her teeth again to pull the pin, throwing it behind us. We hightail it out of there, shooting everyone in front of us.

“Jade!” Jameson roars, grabbing her and tossing her into the nearest room, rushing the guard and stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest.

“Jamie!” Jade yells, literally sliding out of the room and shooting the two guards that were aiming for his head. I’ve had enough of this shit. We need to get the fuck out of here.

“Spade, Jade. It’s time to release all the tanks we have, we need out of here now!” I command.

They both work in sync, taking out four tanks, pulling the pins, and letting them roll in all different directions. We run for the stairwell door as the hallway fills with hot pink smoke. Jameson wrenches the door open, making sure we all made it inside before shutting the door behind us and locking it. We run down the stairs and reach the loading dock door.

Exiting the hospital, we climb back into the still-running shit box and slowly make it around the hospital. Cops litter the entire area. We keep it at a slow pace so as to not draw any attention. We finally leave the parking lot and drive to where Jade’s SUV is. We dump the shit box and climb into the truck. We’re safe; we’re all okay.Looking around at everyone, we take a minute to catch our breaths and remove our masks. This mission was asuccess, but fucked all at the same time.Fuck.Jade is the first to speak.

“Where are we heading? I think we should lay low for a couple of days.”

“Safe house?” I ask, looking at my brothers. They nod. I look at Jade. “I’ll drive, I think you and Jameson have some catching up to do,” I state. And she agrees. Climbing out of the car to get into the driver’s seat. I grab Jade by her hair, fusing my lips to hers.

“Don’t think I didn’t notice how many times you saved us tonight, good Kittens get rewarded!” I suck her bottom lip.

“Well, Daddy, you did a good job protecting us all! I love you.” She kisses me lightly, but it’s not enough. I push her up against the truck, holding her face in my hands.

“I love you too, baby. Now go make up with Jameson. He’s a moody fucker” I kiss her forehead and get into the driver’s seat.

“Really, you just had to get a taste, didn’t you?” Spade complains. I shake my head, laughing.

Pulling away from the curb and heading onto the highway to the safe house. I glance into my rear-view mirror to see Jameson holding Jade’s face, wiping the tears from her eyes. I can’t determine what they are saying, but it’s their moment. Things won’t be okay until they are okay with one another. I look over to Spade, who’s texting on his phone. Hopefully, checking on Ophelia and the others to make sure they got back to the warehouse safely. His eyes lock with mine, and he nods. He knew what I was asking without needing the words. There’s going to be severe consequences from this stunt. I know we will do everything we can to keep Jade from it.

The safe house is an hour north of the academy in Stonedge. When we turned eighteen, we bought a piece of land in the middle of the woods in a dead person’s name. We paid cash for the acreage, the excavation, electricity, water, and the houseto be built. We wanted a forever home; a home that was not linked to us at all. We have another place, but our fathers know about it. We never go there. It’s a dummy house. We pay people to go there to take care of it. We even went as far as rerouting our trackers to that location, so it looks like we are there often. Our fathers don’t know that we figured out that they embedded trackers underneath our skin. So, we figured out how to override the tracker when we don’t want to be found. Jameson is excellent at hacking.
