We might not see them for a week. Tet adds.

“You two shouldn’t be reading my mind.” I complain. “but that is one hell of a booty call.”

“Hey, Kelsey, what booty call are you talking about?” Cara signals to me, “I mean, you look like you got some.” She smiled like a cat with cream. My cheeks begin to heat up.

Are you alright, my heart, Tan asks, Your cheeks are turning red.

Shush you! I think.

“Cara, I am sure the ladies aren’t interested in my love life,” I demure.

“Oh no, querida, we want all the deets,” Yaretzi says with enthusiasm.

“Well, then, you better get your own Akkadianans!” I give my friends a stern look. They just laugh and giggle and look at my me and my men with good humor.

“You did say you were going to have two males. Didn’t you?” Victoria didn’t sound amused. “it just isn’t right. One man and one woman. That is God’s plan.”

“Female, you forget where you are.” Tan is upset.

“Tan, please forgive Victoria. Like I told you situations, like ours are still unusual on Earth.” I give Victoria a look and she has the good sense to look down.

“As long as I don’t have to live in sin with two men, I guess it is okay.” Victoria mumbles, “It truly is up to God to judge.”

“Yes, Victoria,” I agree. “I seem to remember that that is what the Bible says.”

Tet, Tan, and I move to the other side of the ladies and sit down. There are a few crew members in the mess and one of the Mess Officer’s bring us our meal. I give him a slight smile in gratitude. “Thanks, Ar’Ti!” The male just nodded quickly, shifting his eyes to both of the males I sit between then ran off, back to the Kitchen.

“I wonder what up with Ar’Ti?” I say. “He was so friendly the past few days.”

“He knows his place and your place in our lives,” Tet tells me.

“You mean, he can’t even say ‘hi’ to me?” I ask.

Tet sniffs and states, “It is not appropriate for him to associate with the Command Team’s mate.”

“That is so fucked up!” I yell. “I need friends.”

And you have friends, a kitchen scut isn’t an appropriate friend, Tan replies, The humans are currently the best friends for you.

“You are a snob, Tan.” I tell him.

I don’t know what that is and I don’t care. He just looks at me. It is the way of things on board a well run ship. You will get used to it.

“And you wonder why I get so pissed off with you,” I hiss.

“My heart, can we eat in peace?” Tet asks.

“I don’t know, can you get chuckles over here to not remind me what an asshole he is?” The ladies gasp at that statement.

“Um, Kelsey… You might want to be a bit nicer to the commander,” Millie says quietly.

“Yeah, You are starting to sound like a bitch,” says Yaretzi. “The poor guy isn’t saying a word and your calling him an asshole.”

“You have no idea what is going on or you would go ballistic on this male.” Tan has a bit of a smirk on his face. He has the good sense to huff when I elbow him.

We are finish up our meal when Tet and Tan get up, each giving me a quick kiss and head out to the bridge. Yaretzi swiftly moves in on me, as the other crewmembers follow their command team out of the Officer’s Mess.

“Gurrll, now that they have left, you have to tell me what is going on,” she says. “Inquiring minds really need to know.”
