Continuing my perusal of the room, I start to see my friends and I wave to them. Tet and Tan have me so sandwiched that this filling isn’t going anywhere without them. They sit us towards the front next to two more identical males who look similar to my mates. Tet introduces the older males as their fathers, Fen and Fade Bl’Wski. They give a mild smile of acknowledgement then turn forward again to pay attention to the dais. Tet and Tan seem like good little soldiers taking the same position as their fathers. Sitting at attention but “at ease” as they wait for the meeting to start. I just look around the rest of the room. Amazed at all the different beings who filled the auditorium.

“That is the council?” I indicate to the dais with fourteen beings all dressed in beautiful robes. My mates acknowledge that, yes, they are the Council. I just look on with curiosity. There are only two females. One looks ok, like a kindly yellow granny with a red feather hat, except the hat is growing from her head. The other looks like a bitch, an ugly bitch… an insect-y, ugly bitch… Yeah, I just bet she has a beautiful spirit, despite her nasty ass looks. OK, I am being a bit shallow, but she really looks mean.

Cara called out to Maryellen, then she saw me and waves without a call Millie, Winona, and Victoria sit with her. Winona and Millie wave back as I silently greet them from my position. Victoria looks at my mates then me with an eyebrow up and her lips pursed in disapproval. I am tempted to climb on Tet’s lap and lean over to make out with Tan, just to shock the prude, but I remember that this is neither the time nor place to start trouble. I represent Earth and need to try and be on my best behavior

Just as we are settling in and waiting for the center seat to be taken on the dias, a loud ruckus starts up at the entryway. First, a tall male, turquoise with lavender hair and horns coming out of his head, strides in followed by big males that look like mutant bulldogs. A tiny, or at least compared to all those males, human female angrily struts into the room. I almost didn’t recognize my friend, Yaretzi, as she was dressed in a luxurious robe, her hair and make-up done to perfection.

Oh, good, the Senior Council is here. Tet thought. But…is that?

Yep, that is Yaretzi, I respond. Doesn’t she look so beautiful?

No one is as beautiful as you, my heart, Tan answers.

Nice save, but, seriously, she really is looking gorgeous. I am adamant.

I will acquiesce to your judgment, Tet looks seriously at me, Tan and I can only see you, our mate. The most beautiful female of all and that is how it will be for our whole lives. You are all we have and will ever desire. Tan just stares at me with those amazing eyes. They really know how to make me have all those feels. Though this wasn’t a test, they would have passed with flying colors had it been… I guess they really do like me.

Yes, my heart. Tet smiles at me. We more than like you. I don’t know what this “test” is, but we will do anything to have you say “yes” to claiming by us.

For a moment my eyes are captured in their gaze. Then Yaretzi starts yelling. “I am not your puta!” The big male leans and says something to her in a low voice. I don’t know what he is saying, I’m just too far away from them, but Yaretzi isn’t happy. If she had a knife in her hand, he would be bleeding. Instead, she puts her middle finger in his face with a false smile. He stands tall, turns and walks to the dais to take his seat in the middle of the Galactic Federation Council. His face is a mask of stoicism.

The Senior Council does not look happy. Tet observed. Maybe, he has discovered what trouble human mates can be? He muses.

Oh, I have been easy on you two. I smirk at him. I so admire Yaretzi’s style, such an elegant flip off.

Don’t make me spank you, my heart. Tan gives me some serious side eye.

MMMMMmmm, threatening me with a good time, I feel him straighten and look sternly at me. I just look up at him and flutter my lashes with a coy smile.

My heart, I just don’t know what to do with you. Tet smiles a bemused smile as he watches the proceedings.

Very simple, don’t try to change me, and I won’t try to change you. With that I go back to paying attention. Not that it was easy, lots of posturing by the council members about this budget and that invoice…A variance granted to Caetrin this thingamajig… Mitrias gets that doohickey… blah, blah, blah…

My heart, if you want to go back to our quarters, I will escort you, Tan tells me.

Nice try, but no, I need to be here for now, I reply. I am trying to not show my boredom, now quit distracting me.

You are doing quite well, my heart. Tet sends a wave of affection through our connection. I didn’t know you could act so well. Only Tan and I know how bored you are because we feel it. All others…

“And now, we come to the planet in galaxy H495, solar system J2695. We know it as G348.” The Senior Council announces the next agenda item, “The locals call it Earth and themselves humans. The Galactic Federation is in quandary, because while we have banned ships from the Federation and its subsidiaries from entering that solar system…” The Senior Council was interrupted by the door opening, by a big man of the same species as him and a beautiful and obviously pregnant human with a big smile on her face enter. I am struck by the couple. He looks a lot like the Senior Council, yet he is bigger and bulkier than the male that claims Yaretzi.

“Hail, cousin! Am I late for the festivities?” Shouting shamelessly, the big male just smiles at the dour Senior Council.

“We were just getting started, D’Artimus.” The Senior Council looks about ready to laugh but he holds himself together. “Please find a seat for your mate. That youngling she carries has to be a great burden for such a dainty creature.” Many smile at her as a less than dainty snort rings out through the room. They make a move towards Rin’On and Maryellen. We watch as the couples greet each other until there is a collective harrumph from the dais.

“If we can continue,” the Senior Council begins again with the line item that is on his agenda. “Now, with G348, also known as Earth, we are finding that for the past 5-6 galactic years, the rate of humans, particularly human females, within our designated space has increased ten fold.” He looks over at Yaretzi and the very pregnant woman next to Maryellen. He shakes his head, “As charming as these sentient beings are, we can not allow a primitive species like these humans be victims of slavers and pirates who have decided they are fair game.”

Who’s he calling primitive? I am not good with that title, We may not be advanced technologically, but we are hardly primitive.

My heart, it is merely a designation of your technology, Tet consoles me. Not your intelligence.

However, with a mate like his, maybe he is looking at the civilization? I jab Tan with my elbow at that dig. He gives a token grunt with a sly smile.

The female council member with the bug face gets all on her high horse, “Why should we get involved with such a puny species? If anything, they are being helped by being allowed to learn from civilized species. I, also, don’t even see the appeal of these tiny creatures.”

If your males have females as ugly as you, you are just jealous, I think.

Now, my heart, be kind. The males of her kind are even uglier, Tet replies. Oh, that got me. I put my head down to hide my silent giggles.
