I try to work out my feelings. I don’t have much of a choice. One thing about this claiming: I am very aware of my body, as well as their minds. This morning there is a spark of something low in my body. I am not sure, but it definitely feels like something is happening. I can feel cells splitting and attaching to me. Surely, I can’t be… Noooo, that is not something that can be felt yet…Can it?
It is quite possible, my heart, Tet confirms. The claiming bite can heighten certain senses and adjust hormones to enhance the chance of breeding.
“But how can I be pregnant this fast, let alone feel it?” I question. Oh, that feeling of smug maleness rolled off the both of them. This was starting to boil my blood.
“You have a fever, my heart?” Tet asks. Rolling my eyes, I could only chuckle. They just don’t understand.
No fever, you are upset? Tan asks next, I feel him as they both begin figuring it out. I am upset because they didn’t warn me.
But we told you that there would be a much stronger connection between us. Tan is so sincere.
“Yes, but I guess I couldn’t imagine how open my mind would be to you.” I am still wrapping my head around all this.
“Is there a reason you would want to keep secrets from us?” Tet inquires and his white eyebrow raises like Star Trek’s Spock. Oops, well, I guess I don’t really need to keep secrets. “No, you do not!” Tet wraps his arms around me and nuzzles my ear. “You will always be with us mentally, even when you are physically away from us.”
Wow! This is really weird, yet kind of cool even if I can’t sneak out when I need to… And, yes, I do need to sneak out every so often, you two busy bodies. Tet and Tan give me a look that says it all. I don’t think I will be sneaking out very often. But I will be safe.
Very safe, my heart. my mates respond. Then it hits me. I could be pregnant. OMG! Me … a mom?
You will be the best mother, Tan assures me.
“I need your mother to come with me to see Michelle.” I look at my mates with a worried gaze. “I need to know if it is true and I need to know what to expect.”
“My beautiful agent of chaos needs to know what to expect?” Tet chuckles.
“Yeah, I do like to have a plan for important things and I would say THIS qualifies for an important thing.” I like being spontaneous, but not about something so important. “Tet…Tan, I am scared.” Both of my mates wrap their arms around me and cuddle me. This is so overwhelming but I guess I will just have to muddle through and trust that my mates will be there for me.
You know we will, Tan states.
Aaaannnndddd…That is another thing I will need to get used to, annoying busy bodies in my brain.
What is a busy body? Tet asks.

I love you, my heart, he begins. Your thoughts are important to us. Besides, I think your thoughts are adorable.
Asshole, I state as he smiles. “I love you too. Now, I need to get an appointment with Michelle and see if your mom can come.”
Chapter Thirty-Four

It took a few days to get into the medics office. In that time, my mates and I couldn’t get enough of each other. I was still freaked out by the possibility of being a mom and, of course, how I didn’t have any privacy. My mates are learning to not comment on every little thing I think. I can almost…almost…forget that they are able to hear every thought and emotion.
I am so happy to see Michelle. She stands next to that big male; I saw her with at the meeting. She gives me a big hug. Teyana stands next to me. I can feel her excitement.
“This is my Mother-in-law, Teyana Bl’wski. Tayana, this one of my friends, Michelle…” I flounder. Looking at Michelle in shock. “I’m sorry, I don’t know your last name.”
Michelle laughs. “I don’t think it ever came up in conversation on the ship. It’s Laurent. Michelle Genevieve Laurent. It is so nice to meet you, Lady Teyana.”
“A pleasure to meet you, Lady Michelle,” Teyana looks at me. “What is a mother-in-law?”
“Oh, I am sorry.” I realize that I forgot the cultural differences again. “A mother-in-law is the mother of your spouse…um, your mates.”
“Mother-in-law? Hmm, I like that.” Teyana tries it on for size. She hugs me and declares, “I am your mother-in-law. You get to call me Mother!” She is more a mother to me than my own. My heart grew so big that I hugged her even harder.
“We should get you in the exam room and see where you are at,” Michelle cuts in. “Is that meet with your approval, Senior Medic O’Jectic?” She glares at the big, purple alien.
