We’re in my bed, which Rosa confessed to sleeping in every night since I left. If I didn’t love her already, the confession would have definitely been my tipping point. We’re lying on the bed, still fully clothed as she tells me how she has spent the past few weeks.

“I already picked out my wedding dress,” she informs me. “I’m having it custom made by an Italian designer.”

“Yes, Roman mentioned to me that the wedding is a few weeks after Thanksgiving,” I say, fishing. I’m a little worried she went ahead without the Christmas wedding, despite my hang-ups about it.

“I decided on a date without you,” she announces. “I figured since you didn’t ‘care,’ I was allowed to. Don’t worry, it’s not onChristmas. I’ll be spending that day with my family since you seem to hate it so much.”

My eyes narrow. “I’m your family.”

“Yes,” she nods, “and it’ll be official on the twenty-eighth. A few days after Christmas. Does that please you?”

“I’m not feeling particularly pleased with the sass in your tone,” I mutter.

She rolls her eyes. “Dickhead.”

I pull her closer. “Keep saying things like that and it’ll be really hard for you to work tomorrow, baby.”

“Good,” she whispers. “You’ve got a lot of making up to do. Six weeks’ worth.”

I smile, running my hand through her hair. “I’m sorry I can’t give you a Christmas wedding.”

“That’s okay, babe,” she murmurs. “I had a long time to work through my issues about that. I might have accidentally drawn you with my boot in your cheek to relieve some of my anger,” she says with a grin. “But I’m okay now.”

Dry amusement fills me. “Can I see the drawing?”

She shakes her head. “No one’s seeing it. Ever. I did make a few vases and ceramic sculptures you’ll like. Dany has an art gallery showing coming up, and she’s trying to convince me to put some of my recent works up for auction.”

“Do you want to?”

“We’ll see if they sell.”

I’d buy every last piece of her art to keep her happy.

“Tell me about you, though. How was Russia?”

My lips curl into a smile as I give her a recap of everything that went down, making sure to soften the more bloody parts of the story.

“And Jason? I haven’t seen him?”

“He’s still back there. Taking care of the last few issues.”

“He’ll be okay, right?” Rosa questions worriedly.

I nod. “Don’t worry, principessa. Jason will be back soon.” I look at her. “Now that we’ve both got all our questions out of the way, can I have my kiss?”

She grins. “You can have as many as you want. But tomorrow, we have to talk about wedding preparations. There’s so much to do, Enzo. You wouldn’t believe it.”

“Sure, no problem,” I murmur. I’ll say anything to get her to slide those pink lips against mine.

When she leans closer, I don’t hesitate. Her lips are soft, her tongue hot and wet. When she sighs into my mouth, violent lust roars through my blood, dulling my vision. She has no idea the effect she has on me. How deeply she has imprinted herself onto me.

The weeks go by fast.Rosa and I settle into a real relationship, our wedding looming closer with each passing day. My eyes open as I feel the sheets rustle and her warmth sliding out of my arms. We were up late last night as I went all out in trying to make up for the past few weeks.

“Where are you going?” I ask as she gets out of bed and stretches.

“Church,” she informs me. “I’m trying to go more regularly. Mom has been on my ass about it.”

“No,” I groan, pulling her back into bed. “If you’re so intent on going to church, how about you get on the bed while I say a prayer between your legs?”
