“I don’t,” I said. “I just like to leave some things to the imagination.”

She laughed. “But I bet you’re glad I didn’t leave you imagining by yourself when you first kidnapped me.”

“I was just doing my job. I didn’t know that you’d be so irresistible.” It was true. I didn’t want to keep my hands off her, because I couldn’t. My arm was around her hips, her bare skin against the tips of my fingers. Even after having her in the parking garage, I still wanted her.

Emma flirted me with me relentlessly after I told her she was simply irresistible. Her fragrance, her soft skin, curvy body, and long legs that got a hold of me were the perfect mix of traits in the confident woman I thought she might be.

In short, she was perfect for me.

We continued admiring the ancient ruins of the city, and Emma told me all sorts of interesting things about the historic city.

“Where’d you learn all of this?” I couldn’t imagine her traveling here on her own, especially with the way she acted when we got here.

“I read about it,” she said. “You know, in a book?”

We walked past ancient statues and ruins that reflected a rich culture, and maintained an intimacy that I had never experienced before in my life. It was as if I had somehow found my soul mate, and it was all because I was Braden Reed’s second hand man.

As much as I wanted to push the thought of the Reeds catching up to us out of my mind, it was a very real possibility. Short bursts of fear would get a hold of me occasionally, as we enjoyed the exotic sights, but then I would ground myself in the reality I was in. It worked, briefly. Eventually, I’d have to prepare myself for what might come next.

Emma noticed that I was deep in thought. “What’s on your mind?”

“Nothing,” I lied.

“That’s a lot of nothing for the face you’re making,” she prodded.

“Let’s just get some rest,” I told her. The sun had been setting for the past half hour, and I just wanted to be alone with her.

“If you have anything do with it,” she said, smiling coyly, “we won’t be getting too much rest tonight.”

I laughed, and so did she. We eventually found a nice place to stay, a traditional Thai house surrounded by lush green trees, near the Chao Phraya river.

Emma stared up at the house I’d gotten us. “This is so beautiful.”

I beamed with pride. Finding the house and keeping it a secret was no easy feat with Emma constantly at my side. Eventually, I had gotten away from her just long enough to secure the rental on my phone.

“I had you in mind when I chose this place,” I said. “It’ll be our little oasis for a while. We can get some real rest and relaxation here. There’s no way anyone can find us here.”At least, I hope so.

Emma led me up the steps to our main bedroom, giddy with the awe that came with being in such an amazing location. As we laid in bed that night, holding each other tightly, I couldn’t help but feel I had an almost sacred duty to making sure that she was safe. Nothing was going to happen to her here, I swore to myself.

EMMA

He had swooped me away to a land that was more than just a blocky skyline, one that highlighted the magic of the world’s natural beauty. I was in heaven, and Jack was the one who took me there. Before him, I had only been around men who were simply too uptight, or, worse, weak. Jack was the exact opposite of that and I knew it the moment I met him, despite the fact that he also kidnapped me. I couldn’t bring myself to be too mad about it, since he was such a hottie, but then again, I wasn’t trying to wrap my mind around it, even though I couldn’t escape reminders of our situation.

We awoke the next morning and cuddled in each other’s arms, Jack caressing my body, and the sounds of his deep, scratchy morning voice soothing me. I loved on him too, showing him the appreciation I had for how he made me feel. I had been so bored before meeting him, and being so rottenly spoiled meant nothing to me because I had so much missing from my life. It was like being taken away and thrown into danger had saved me.

After a while of some great cuddling, Jack got up to make breakfast.

“You’re leaving me so soon?” I asked, making a pouty face.

Jack didn’t look back; he was on a mission.

There was so much mystery to him, the way he acted, the way he did things, and just his existence left me with so many questions. What was his endgame with me? Was he just going to use me?

He answered that with his actions however, and I smelled the delicious breakfast that he was cooking. The aroma was so strong it pulled me out of bed to join him. I lifted the black silk robe from my bedside and slipped it over my naked body. Jack had ravaged me the night before, leaving me feeling good and pleasantly tired.

When I arrived at the dining room, Jack had already served breakfast.
