His gaze… it keeps me rooted in that spot; its hold on me is nothing like I’ve ever felt before.

When I hear the sound of a zipper being drawn up, my cheeks grow warm and I hastily turn around, kicking myself for staring unabashedly at a man in the restroom. I hear the water running and I assume he’s washing his hands.

“Well, it’s a little too late for that now, isn’t it?” His voice is heavenly, like a drug I could get addicted to even though I know it’s bad for me.

I swallow, my hands suddenly shaky. “I’m sorry, I thought this was the ladies,” I mutter, not sure he can hear me. I have no idea why I’ve still not moved and gotten out of there.

The water stops running and I hear footsteps approaching me. I smell him before I feel him against my back and he smells divine… like rain on a lazy Sunday morning. I stiffen when I feel the graze of his touch on the nape of my neck.

“What’s your name, love?” He whispers into my ear and I gasp at the feel of his breath on me.

It’s like I’m being controlled, having no choice but to do his bidding and I am all but willing. “Charlotte Wilson,” I answerand lick my lips. “But my friends call me Charlie.” I don’t know why I tell him that. He’s obviously a stranger, one I doubt I’ll ever see again. But at that moment, I feel stripped bare and seen by him even though I have my back to him. He could ask me anything and I wouldn’t hesitate to answer.

“Turn around, Charlotte,” he whispers again and like a robot, I do as he says.

The darkness in his eyes causes me to gasp. His desire is so vivid, lethal even, but I can’t resist being sucked in. When he closes the distance between us, I suck in a breath. My eyes flutter shut as I anticipate his lips on mine.

I wonder how they would taste, how his strong arms would feel wrapped around my waist, how he would drive me senseless with everything he has. I don’t know when the word “please” falls out of my mouth, but I feel no shame begging him to take me. If anything, I’m eager for it.

My eyes are still tightly shut and my entire body shivers, jolting at the electricity of his lips brushing mine. My stomach explodes and something shifts in me. The emptiness is gone and I feel complete, free. It is all I’ve ever really wanted.

“Charlie!” Ava’s concerned scream pulls us apart and I regain my senses.

“That’s my friend,” I say to the stranger whose name I just realized I don’t know. “I should go.”

I turn around and open the door to see Ava right in front of me.

“There you are, I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” She scrunches up her nose in confusion. “What are you doing inthe men’s…” her voice trails off as she stares right behind me. “Dad?”

“Ava?” the stranger answers behind me.

Oh no!
