“I love mysteries,” Lucas admitted.“Don’t judge.”

“Let’s try it,” Landry said and keyed several combinations before saying, “Next.”

“The only other famous private investigator I can think of is Nancy Drew.”Felina shrugged.“I obviously need to read more mysteries.”

Landry keyed in Nancy Drew. The Invalid Password message didn’t come up.

For a long moment, the computer churned.A list of files popped up.

“We’re in.”Landry clicked on the first file.

A photograph popped up on the screen.

Felina, Lucas and Remy leaned closer.

“I’m not sure what we’re looking at,” Felina said.“Is that a face?”She pointed at the screen.

“Looks like one,” Lucas said.

“He looks familiar,” Felina’s brow furrowed as she stared at the face in a sea of what looked like feathers and sequins. Then she remembered the recent mention of New Orleans.Mr.Crabtree had been murdered in New Orleans.

The more she studied the image, the more convinced she became of who it was.“That’s Mr.Crabtree.”

“Are you certain?”Remy asked.

“Absolutely,” Felina said.“He was in the shop often enough I remember his face. That is his face. And it appears he’s surrounded by people. Are those beaded necklaces?”

“They are,” Landry confirmed.

Felina’s gaze met Lucas’s.“Mardi Gras.”

“It appears Gaither was following Mr.Crabtree, snapping pictures,” Lucas said.“Who are the people around him?”

Landry leaned close, his brow ceased.“Hard to tell who is with him or who is just another face in the crowd.”

“Can’t see many faces in that crowd,” Felina commented.“They’re wearing ostrich feather masks that completely cover their faces.”

“The one in the blue mask appears to be talking to Mr.Crabtree.”

“Pull up the next image,” Felina said.“He took quite a few photos.“

Landry clicked on the next file, and an image much like the one before appeared. In this photo, the woman in the blue mask pressed a kiss to Mr.Crabtree’s lips.

“What do you want to bet that isn’t Mrs.Crabtree?”Lucas muttered.“Next photo.”

In this image, the blue-masked woman had turned and walked away, her back to Mr.Crabtree.The man appeared to be calling out to her retreating figure.

“Next,” Lucas urged.

The blue-masked woman was gone.On the opposite side from where she’d stood, another woman appeared, wearing a green sequined dress and a green mask. The mask’s feathers completely covered her face from forehead to below the chin.Lucas could just make out a hint of red hair. She rested a hand on Mr.Crabtree’s shoulder and wore a large emerald ring on her middle finger.

“Next,” Lucas said.

Instead of a photo, a short video played, starting with the woman in the blue mask kissing Mr.Crabtree and then the woman in the green mask approaching the man and placing her hand on his shoulder.

He turned toward her, a frown furrowing his brow.

The crowd around them surged, pushing them together in a blur of motion.
