Huffing out a sigh, I find a seat in the stadium and get comfy. With my hands wrapped around my coffee and my knees tucked close to my chest, I watch as the guys warm up to start running their drills.

Toby comes out onto the ice a second later, decked out head to toe in his gear, with Bishop following after him.

For the next hour, my attention is split between Toby and Bishop. Toby blocks every shot sent his way, and I cheer like every one is the winning block. The whole team seems to be in better spirits, getting excited for their teammate.

And Bishop is like a fucking demon on the ice. He blocks and steals the puck, protecting his goalie like his life depends on it. Anything that does manage to get past Bishop or the other defenseman, Bowman, Toby blocks with the same intensity that Bishop uses to protect his goalie.

I’m on the edge of my seat the whole time, getting just as excited as the rest of the team.

By the time they're done, the whole room is vibrating with positive energy. “Now that's what I’m talking about!” Jax praises them. “I wanna see more of that on Saturday. Go hit the showers, I’ll see you all tomorrow.”

Licking my lips, I watch as Bishop slowly follows the others off the ice. He takes his helmet off, flicking his dark, sweaty hair out of his face. His eyes find mine, and he winks before disappearing with the others.

My whole body heats as my heart flutters. Damn it, I’m crushing on that boy hard. How have I never noticed just how sexy he is?

“Toby,” Jax calls out, getting my attention. “Find me when you're done. We need to talk.”

Toby takes his helmet off, his hair dripping with sweat and equally just as sexy as Bishop. I’m hopeless.

Toby flashes Jax a smile. “Sure thing, Coach.” His eyes flick up to mine. “Told you I was awesome, Little Flower. That was all for you. Also, I hope you plan on attending every game now, because I think I just found my good luck charm.” He chuckles as my eyes go wide.

Oh, hell. This can’t be good. Being a hockey player's good luck charm comes with more responsibilities than I’d like to take on right now. Players and fans take it very seriously, to the point I may fear for my life if I don’t do it.

Okay, not really, but I’d have some pretty pissed off people if I don’t show up and they lose. I know they would very much blame it on me if Toby tells anyone I’m his good luck charm.

“Well,” Jax starts, pausing to chuckle. “Guess I’ll be seeing you more often.”

I groan, getting up and walking the few steps down to him. “I’m not coming to every morning practice,” I warn him.

“Wouldn’t expect you to. Although, the guys may bug you. It’s the games that are important. But you know you don’t actually have to. No one will force you.”

“Nah, it’s okay. I like watching them play. And it’s kind of cool to be someone's good luck charm.” Even if it’s Toby’s. “But, hey, if you lose the game on Saturday, I’m free!” I giggle as he glares at me.

“Lillianna Tatum, do not put those bad vibes out into the universe.”

“What are you going to do?” I ask, raising a brow with a smirk.

“Can’t ground you. You’re too old for that. But you sure can babysit your brothers Friday night.”

“Okay. But why?”

“Chase and Rain went rogue and got last minute tickets to go see the Backstreet Boys.” He grins.

“Ahh, old people music.” I nod in understanding, giggling when he gives me a look of horror.

“You take that back, young lady.”

“Okay, fine. Not old people, just... vintage.” I laugh harder when he pulls me into his arms and messes up my hair.

“Brat. So, babysit?”

“Yes.” I grin as I fix my hair. “I miss the little snots. Well, the twins are snots, Bennett’s a good kid.”

Jax’s face softens. “He is.”

“Has he come to you or Brody yet?”

Jax sighs and takes a seat on the bench. “No. But I found him crying the other night. He was ripping up all the photos of him and Easton.” Jax looks up at me with a stricken expression. “It’s killing your dad and me that Bennett won’t come to us. He’s struggling with his sexuality, and we want to be there for him. He’s hurting, but any time we try to bring it up, he shuts us down.”
