“Yeah, ones that will claw your eyes out,” Brody grumbles.

Bennett gets up and wedges his way between Mom and me. “Our parents are a lot sometimes,” he sighs.

“They are.” I grin down at him. “But they mean well and love us fiercely.”

He nods and puts his head on my shoulder.

We all talk amongst ourselves as the stadium becomes packed. Half of the crowd is dressed in silver, grey, and white SVU jerseys, while the other half is dressed in black and red RVU jerseys.

“I hope Wilson gives Buck a good beat down tonight,” Ryan says as the team starts making their way out onto the ice.

My attention is immediately grabbed by both number thirteen, Bishop, and number thirty-five, Toby. Toby skates over towards the net while the others skate around warming up. Bishop starts slapping some pucks around, looking all sexy in his gear. Look, I’ve never been one for hockey. It’s not the game for me, it’s the men playing the game that I like.

“Why is that hot?” Bee whispers. Tearing my attention away from Bishop, I follow her gaze over to Toby to see him doing some stretches.

I bite the inside of my cheek as I watch. He looks like he’s humping the ice and damn it, Bee is right, it’s oddly arousing. Watching his legs spread wide, hips thrusting up and down on the ice as he stretches his muscles out has me thinking all the dirty thoughts. But then it dawns on me what she just said.

“Excuse me?” I glare over at her, and she giggles.

“Down, girl. The one I have my eye on is that one right there.” She points to the jersey with the number twenty-six with the name Walker printed across it, Jonas’ number.

“How's that going?”

From what I can tell, they’re still playing this push and pull game. Bianca, for some reason, is playing hard to get, but Jonas seems to be loving the challenge.

“We kissed last night.” She looks over at me with a blush.

“Aaaand...” I say excitedly. “How was it?”

“That man knows how to kiss.” She groans, putting her face in her hands. I giggle hard at her reaction. “Why didn’t you tell me he was such a good kisser?!”

“Okay, weird.” I laugh. “And, well... we never really made out, it was mostly just pecks on the lips.”

“Oh, girl, you were missing out.” She grins.

My attention is captured by a bang on the glass. Jonas looks at Bee and gives her a wink, blowing her a kiss, making my friend blush a scarlet red.

“God, you two are so grossly cute.” I laugh.

Bishop looks up from the ice, his eyes finding mine. He gives me a little head nod and a cocky smirk before going back to do his thing.

“So, when are you going to talk to me about your crush on my brother?”

My eyes go wide, and I look around to see if my parents are listening. Thankfully, they’re not; they are busy talking with each other or watching the guys. “What do you mean?” It’s my turn to blush as panic sets in. We’re leaning over Ryan at this point to talk, but he just huffs out a laugh.

She gives me a knowing look. “Babe, I’m not blind. I see how he looks at you, it’s not how a best friend looks at another. Plus, he’s spending all of his free time with you. I haven’t seen him flirt with another girl in weeks, and when you're not looking, he stares at you like a damn creeper.”

My blush deepens and my belly flips. “Are you mad?” I whisper, praying like hell she isn’t.

“No.” She shakes his head. “I’d do the whole ‘if you hurt my brother I’ll hurt you speech,’ but I’m not worried about that. But I swear to god if he hurts you, I’ll do a repeat act with the baseball bat. No babies for him.”

We both burst into giggles, and I’m so damn relieved she doesn’t hate me. But that's what I love about Bianca, she’s chill and easy going but also very protective over the ones she loves.

“I just ask you not to make out in front of me.”

“I don’t even know what we are.” I sigh. “But I’ll let you know when I do.”

“What is this about a baseball bat?” Ryan asks, looking at us with an amused look.
