Ever since that day he told me every heart wrenching thing, he’s been respecting my wishes and giving me space. He sends me good morning and goodnight texts. He updates me whenever he does something that betters his health like take his meds or goes to therapy appointments. It’s going to take him about a month or so before he levels out, and the meds kick back in, doing their job. So he’s asked me to be patient with him, and I will be as much as he is with me.

He’s been sending me potted flowers. A new color every day. It makes my pulse race, my belly warm, and my heart ache, in a good way. It’s giving me hope that we can move past this. Bee keeps telling me our room is getting too crowded with all of the planters, so I plan on taking them to my parents’ house. I can plant them there in my garden behind the pool house. They mean too much and are too pretty to just let them go to waste.

I haven’t forgotten or forgiven Toby for the things he’s done. He hurt me a lot. But knowing that he didn’t do any of those things to me deliberately, I plan on giving him another chance. Some people might think I’m foolish, but screw what everyone thinks. Toby and I have been closer than best friends our whole life. I’m not going to just throw that away. I believe in second chances, if the person proves they deserve it. That's what I’ve asked of Toby, and he’s agreed to it. Only time will tell.

If my mom can forgive my parents for what they did to her, I sure as hell can forgive Toby.

Other things I do know: I’m still in love with him, and I still want to be with him. But I’m also in love with Bishop, and I want to be with him too. I refuse to choose but something tells me that when Toby finds out, he will not be happy about it. That's why Bishop and I agreed to keep it between us and our close friends—meaning Jonas and Bee—and give Toby’s meds a chance to take hold before we lay something like this on him.

Bee and Jonas don’t know just yet, but we plan on telling them soon, because I don’t want to have to keep my hands to myself every time I’m with Bishop. And I know it’s hard for him to do the same. We haven’t done anything except make out, and it’s driving me nuts because I want nothing more than for that man to toss me on the nearest surface and have his way with me. Not to mention I would very much like to lick every inch of his body, tracing each of his tattoos with my tongue.

A knock at the door has me rushing over. Throwing it open, I pout when I see it’s not Bishop. “Well, damn, Lills, don’t look so happy to see me.” Jonas rolls his eyes, smirking playfully.

“Sorry. I am happy to see you.” I look at what he has in his hands. “What’s that?”

“Coffee for Bee and a muffin. And before you ask why I didn’t get you something, your man is on his way up with your drink.”

“My man?” I ask, cheeks heating.

“Don’t tell me you and Bishop aren't dating.” He chuckles. “I’m not stupid.”

“Okay, fine, we are. I was going to tell you today, actually.” I bite my lower lip.

“He treats you good?”

“Yeah.” I smile. “Really good.”

“Then, consider him best friend approved. Also, he’s the brother of the girl I’m trying to make mine, so I kind of have to like him.” He winks, making me giggle.

“Who's at the door?” Bee groans, and Jonas looks over my shoulder.

“Is she okay?” His brow pinches with concern.

“Yeah, just her lady time.” My eyes widen. “Shit, you did not hear that from me.”

Jonas gives me a blank look. “I’ve been best friends with you two for years now. Period talk doesn’t gross me out. You’ve done enough of it in my presence in the past. Hell, I’m surprised I don’t know when you both start at this point.”

“Okay, weirdo.” I laugh. “Go on in. Maybe you can get her out of bed. If not, we’re going to be late for class.” I let Jonas in, and he smiles, looking at the lump on the bed.

“Hey, Bumblebee. Wanna get that sexy ass up? I brought you coffee and a muffin.”

“Muffin?” Bee pops up like a jack in the box, her hair messy and all over the place.

Jonas chuckles and looks at Bee like she’s the most beautiful girl in the world. Ugh, they’re too damn cute.

“Is there a party in here that I wasn’t invited to?” Bishop’s voice has a thrill of excitement shooting through my body. Spinning around, I give him a shy smile. I can’t help it. It only lasts a few moments after I see him for the first time of the day, but he does that to me. Makes me feel all ooey-gooey inside. I love it. “Hi.” I walk over to him. “No party. Just trying to get Bee up and out of bed.”

“How about you let Jonas deal with that lazy-ass and I’ll walk you to class?” He chuckles.

“I heard that, asshole,” Bee mutters. She gets out of bed, looking like a hot mess but again, Jonas looks at her like he’s ready to rip her clothes off as he sits on the edge of my bed.

“For you.” Bishop hands me my coffee and leans in to kiss me softly on the lips. I melt on the spot.

“Eww! What the hell,” Bee screeches, making my cheeks heat. “Bitch, you didn’t tell me you two were official.”

“That's right, baby sis.” Bishop steps in and wraps his arm around my shoulder, tucking me under his arm. “I’ve been upgraded from best friend to boyfriend.” He flips his sister off and she scowls back, returning the gesture. I giggle because even though these two fight, they love each other like crazy.

“Yeah, well, she lives with me,” Bee mutters, going into her closet. “I don’t have anything to wear.” That's it? God, I love my best friend. She’s so chill, so supportive. Some friends might lose their mind if their best friend dated their sibling, but not Bee.
