“That's all you got to say?” Bishop asks.

“What?” Bee comes stumbling out of the closest with a hoodie and a pair of leggings. “You're dating Lilly. She’s literally the best thing that could have ever happened to you. Now, Mom can stop worrying about you knocking up some puck bunny. Also, if you hurt her, I’ll kill you.” She shrugs.

“Oh, fuck off,” Bishop growls, and I glare at my best friend, jealousy hitting me at the idea of him with other women. I know he’s had a past, but I still don’t like acknowledging he’s slept with a lot of the puck bunnies. “But you are right. Lilly is the best thing that's ever happened to me.” I grin up at him so he can kiss me on the lips.

“Gag,” Bee huffs. “Go be adorable somewhere else so I can die in peace.”

“No dying, Bumblebee. Get dressed, we can walk together.”

“You.” Bishop points at Jonas. “Fuck off. You're not dating my sister.”

“Hey!” Bee protests. “I’m not hounding you about dating my best friend, so you have no say.”

“So that means you're finally agreeing to be my girl?” Jonas asks, smirking at her.

She swings her gaze to him. “No.”

“It’s only a matter of time, baby, but I’ll wait as long as you need,” he chuckles.

“Wait forever. Leave her alone,” Bishop throws in.

“Alright, big boy.” I laugh, grabbing my bag and phone. “Let’s get out of here.” I tug at his arm with my free hand that's not holding the delicious, hot goodness.

“Alone in the room? Fuck no,” Bishop snarls.

“Alright then. I’ll walk all by myself. Maybe some cute guy might offer to walk with me.” I sigh dramatically as I let him go and turn to walk down the hallway.

“Fuck that,” he growls as he runs after me. “I’ll break his fucking hands.”

Facing away from him, I grin, loving the alpha male side of him. It’s hot.

When we get into the elevator, he pushes me against the wall and crashes his lips against mine. I moan as his tongue sweeps in and over mine, kissing me until I’m a horny little mess for him. “Party tonight?” he asks me. “Toby won’t be there. And I want to spend time with my girl without having to worry about keeping my hands to myself.”

Biting my lower lip, I nod my head. “Okay.”

Toby has been staying at home with our parents and plans on staying there until he’s a little more stable. The guys on the team still aren’t that happy with him, so he doesn’t want to stay at the hockey house. From what Bishop told me, he doesn't want to make me uncomfortable by staying in their dorm since it’s across the hall from me.

I feel bad. But having a chance to breathe, to think without worrying I'll run into him all the time has helped a lot.

“Just nothing over the top, okay? You know how these parties can be. Social media is a bitch.”

Thankfully, Katie hasn’t caused any more issues. Yet. But she has been giving me the stink eye any time she’s seen me with Bishop, and she loves to pretend I’m not there when she asks him about Toby. That pisses me off. She acts as if they’re friends and she cares about his well-being. I call bullshit. She just wants his dick, and I’ll be damned if I ever let that happen.

Toby is mine. Or at least, he will be. Hopefully. Fuck, I hope so. Before, I would have jumped at the chance to make things official with Toby, but a lot has changed. I can’t, not yet. I’ve lost a lot of trust in him, especially where my heart is concerned. I need to know he won’t shatter it again before I give it to him.

“I just want to hang out with my girl, have a few drinks, and dance a little. Nothing crazy.” He quickly kisses me again before the doors open.

He throws his arm over my shoulder as we walk out. I smile, leaning into his warmth. This isn’t anything new for him and me. He’s been acting like this, all close and whatnot, since the school year started. But since we got together, only I know it’s different. I never thought that I’d end up dating Bishop, but I can’t think of anything else I want more.

Okay, that's a lie. I’d like to add another best friend to the mix, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Chapter 35

Bishop

“This is weird,” Lilly tells me as we walk into the hockey house. The party has been going for about an hour now, but Lilly and Bee took forever to get ready. Not that I cared, I was enjoying myself from my spot on her bed as I watched her smile and laugh with my sister.

Who knew seeing Lilly so happy would make me so... happy? Her smile is addicting, her laugh is intoxicating. I’m head over heels for this girl, and it’s taking everything in me not to shout it from the rooftops. I’ve pushed my feelings down for her for so long and now that she’s mine, I don’t want to anymore.
