“I get that.” I roll my eyes. “But why now?”

He shrugs. “I don’t know, babe. He’s my best friend, but there’s a lot about him I don’t understand.”

“W—what are you doing?!” I gape at him as he pulls the towel from his waist.

“Getting dressed.” He looks at me confused.

“Dude! This is not your locker room. I do not want to see your dick.” I slap a hand over my eyes, cheeks flushing because I totally did see his dick and fuck me, I think I saw a piercing.

“Sorry, babe,” he laughs. “Kind of a habit, you know.”

I groan, spinning around. “You know, living with my two guy best friends is going to be a lot harder than I thought.”

“Haha, that’s what she said,” he jokes.

“Really?” I sigh.

“Sorry.” He laughs again. “Come on, Lills. It’s going to be awesome. I’ve missed you, you know?”

I bite my lower lip, my heart feeling all warm and fuzzy. “Is it safe to turn around?”

“Yup.”

Spinning around, I keep my eyes on his face. “You're still in your boxers.”

He rolls his eyes. “Don’t be a prude, Lills.”

“I’m not.” I chew on my lip. His eyes track the motion for a second before lifting back to mine. “And I miss you too.”

“It’s gonna be awesome having you here. Just like old times.”

“You think? Because it won’t be if Toby doesn’t change.”

“He will. You're a hard one to keep away from.” He winks.

I don’t know about that. Seemed pretty easy for him to do these past two years.

Enough bitching about it, you can’t change the past. You're in University now, it’s time to live your life and enjoy new things. And not be dependent on another person.

But I can’t help the excited and hopeful feelings that fill me at the thought of getting what Toby and I had back. Even if it’s only friendship from him. I’ll get over my crush one day.

Only it’s not a crush, is it?

Bishop gets dressed and leaves, so I shower quick.

“What’s he doing here?” Toby’s voice startles me as I reach my dorm room.

“Who?”

His jaw ticks. Okay, so now he’s in a pissy mood? I don’t remember him having mood swings. “Joan.”

My brows furrow for a moment, and then I sigh, understanding who he’s talking about. “Jonas is one of my best friends.”

“I thought you two broke up,” his voice comes out annoyed.

I don’t remember telling him that, but I’m sure it spilled out at some point the other night. “Just because we broke up, doesn’t mean we can’t still be friends.”

“I don’t like him,” he mutters, leaning against the frame of his door.
