“What brings you two here?”

“Hey, Chase,” Bianca says, doing a drive-by wave as she heads over to the bleachers to sit with the cheerleaders.

“Bye, Bee,” he chuckles.

“Well, we’re here for a few reasons. But one of them is to scold you and Brody for warning the damn football team away from me. Really?” I cross my arms and glare at him.

He has the decency to look guilty. “I’m sorry. But also, I’m not. I heard a few guys on the team talking about the video from the party. They weren't being overly gross about it, but they were saying how hot you were. And when I mentioned it to Brody... well, you know your dad.”

“Yeah, like you didn’t agree with him?” I roll my eyes.

“Just looking out for you, short stuff. These are a good group of guys for the most part, but they have new girls hanging off their arms every other day. I was one of them before. I know how they can be.”

“Eww, no. I don’t need to think about you being with other women.” I shiver and he chuckles. “What about Ryan Tucker?”

“What about him?” His brows furrow.

“Is he like all the other guys?”

“Ah, not from what I’ve seen.” He shrugs. “He had a girlfriend but I haven’t seen her around this year.”

“Good,” I nod and walk past him and over toward the players’ bench.

“What do you mean ‘good?’” I almost laugh at the slight panic in my dad’s voice.

Ignoring him, I look for Ryan. I have no idea what his jersey number is, and they all have helmets on. “Which one is Ryan?”

“Why?” he asks with suspicion.

“Dad!” I flick my eyes over to him.

“Twenty-two,” he mutters.

Searching for his number, I find him tossing the ball to another player. Biting my lower lip, I feel the flutters in my belly. He’s got a good arm.

Brody is too distracted doing his job, and when I don’t pay Chase any more mind, he joins him. I just stand here and watch the sexy football players because, why not?

After a few, Ryan looks my way, making my heart speed up a little bit. He pulls his helmet off and shakes out his sweaty black hair.

He looks over at his teammate and says something before he starts jogging over to me. “Hey, gorgeous,” he greets, leaning in to place a small kiss on my cheek.

“Hey,” I say softly, finding myself giddy.

“Tucker!” Brody barks. “Want to tell me why the hell you're kissing my daughter?”

My eyes widen. “Dad!” I hiss.

“Is he your boyfriend or something?” Brody asks, shooting Ryan a glare. Or something.

“No, he’s not my boyfriend.” I roll my eyes. “I’d tell you if he was.”

“Good. So why the hell is he kissing you?”

Ryan chuckles, and the dude must have a huge set of balls because most people shrink away when Brody looks at them the way he’s doing to Ryan right now.

“Sorry, Coach. I’m taking Lilly out this weekend.”

“What?” Brody growls. “I thought I told the lot of you to stay away from her.”
