“Lilly, help!” Bennett shouts. “The little snots ganged up on me. I was playing Xbox first!”

“We want to play now!” Isaiah shouts, his black curly hair mimicking Jax’s, his bio-dad.

“Yeah, you're hogging the game,” Raiden adds and my god, he’s like a mini Toby.

“Guys, leave Bennett alone. Can’t you go play something else?”

“No!” They both shout at once as Raiden jumps on Bennett's back.

“What’s going on in here?” Toby’s voice sounds from behind me.

The twins freeze, then abandon Bennett and race over to Toby. “Toby!” they shout as they tackle him next.

“Thanks for nothing,” Bennett mutters.

“What?” I laugh. “I didn’t even get a chance to help.”

He rolls his eyes, and I take the few steps over to him, pulling him in a hug. “How's it going?”

“Good.” He shrugs, plopping back down on the couch and going back to playing his video games.

“How’s school?”

“It’s school. My gym teacher sucks. He makes us run laps.”

“Oh no, the horror.” I snort, and he shoots me a glare.

“Hey, Lilly!” Raiden shouts. “Guess what?”

I look over to see him on Toby’s shoulders and snort out another laugh as Toby grins over at me, loving the attention from our little brothers.

“What?” I ask with a smirk.

“Bennett has a boyyyyyfriend.”

“Shut the fuck up!” Bennett shouts and my eyes go wide, snapping down to my little brother.

“What’s going on in here?” Brody asks, sounding just like Toby did as he steps into the living room.

“We were telling Lilly about Bennett’s boyfriend,” Isaiah snickers.

Bennett stands up, his fists clenched, nostrils flaring. “I don’t have a boyfriend!”

“Do tooooo. We saw you kiss him by the pool last weekend.” Isaiah and Raiden start laughing.

“Enough!” Brody’s booming voice has the boys zipping their lips fast. “You leave your brother alone, understand me?”

“Yes, sir,” they both mumble before running out of the room.

My heart hurts for Bennett. He looks like he’s on the verge of crying, his face red, and nostrils still flaring.

“Bennett.” Brody sees his struggle and takes a step forward.

“Leave me alone!” he yells, taking off in the other direction towards the stairs.

Toby and Brody look like they want to go after him but I step forward. “I got it, I’ll go talk to him.”

“Maybe I should.” Brody runs a hand through his hair. “If anyone knows what he’s going through, it’s me and Jax.”
