That sick feeling in my belly? Yeah, it’s slightly better. Just a bit, but it’s enough to keep the tears away. And I have to thank my goofy best friend for that.

One thing I’m grateful for is that Bishop doesn’t pick sides. Sure, he hasn’t seen me much since he’s come to school, mostly just texting, but he’s been busy. Hockey is his life. And it gets even more insane when the games start.

I’m just glad that we’re attending the same school and have this chance to be close again.

But just how close?

“I don’t like that he’s stealing you away again,” Bee pouts.

“He is not.” I laugh.

“Is too! You hung out with him all day yesterday and now you're going to hang out with him after school tomorrow. When do I get my Lilly time?”

I grin, raising my brows. “Babe, we share a room and we have five classes together a week.”

“Still. It’s not enough.”

Jonas shakes his head, a grin of his own on his lips. “You should just date each other, then you can spend all the time in the world together.”

“Oh, don’t think I wouldn’t, but I don’t like the V. I’m all about the D.” She wiggles her eyebrows. “But if I was, you would be my top pick.” She winks at me.

“And you would be mine.” I giggle.

“All about the D, huh? Who's D?” Jonas growls, leaning forward. God, he’s so obvious yet my bestie doesn’t see how he looks at her. Ugh. And the messed up thing is, she likes him too! How is she so blind?

“None of your business,” she huffs, jutting out her chin.

And then Jonas does something I’m shocked by, but I also want to raise my hands in the air and shout, FINALLY!

He leans forward, his body halfway over the table and grips Bianca’s cheeks between his fingers. “Listen here, little bumblebee. The only dick you should be all about is mine,” he growls. “And any others you think about, I’ll fucking chop off. So, pass along the message to your little Clay.”

My eyes widen and Bianca’s practically bug out of her head. He lets go of her face but keeps his right there in front of hers. “This is me, telling you, Bianca Grant, you are mine. Get that through your pretty little head.” With a softness that his voice doesn’t convey, he kisses her forehead before getting up and walking out of the café, leaving us gaping in shock.

We both sit there, watching the door for a few beats before I huff out a surprised laugh. I look over at Bianca, a grin stretching over my face.

“Did that just happen?” Lips parted, she slowly looks my way. “Please, tell me that just happened.”

Biting my lower lip, I nod my head. “Oh, that totally just happened.”

We stare at each other for another second before we both burst into girly squeals.

“Wait!” she looks at me in horror. “Oh my god, no. He’s your ex.”

“Babe, no.” I laugh. “We were never really a thing. We hardly kissed, never had sex, and I’m pretty sure he’s had a thing for you the whole time. I’m more than okay with it, trust me.”

“Really?” she whispers, looking unsure.

“Do you like him?”

She gives me a hesitant nod. “I do.”

“Then I say go for it. If he can make you happy, that's all I care about.”

“I can’t believe he just said that. I didn’t know.”

“How could you not?” I giggle. “Girl, he’s been ready to murder any guy who has even looked your way and don’t get me started on Clay. I’m surprised that man is still able to play hockey.”

“Shit. Clay. What do I do about him?”
