That makes sense and explains why he was acting antsy all that day before he asked me to hold his hand. “Are you glad you listened?”

Andrew’s eyes dance with happiness as he looks back and forth between me and Little Drew. “More than you’ll ever know. You and Drew are the best things to ever happen to me. You make me feel complete. I feel whole because of you and my heart leaps every time I see the two of you. You don’t know how happy I am with my life now.”

Grinning, I lean forward and brush my lips against his. “I think I have some idea. Seeing you with Drew makes butterflies dance in my belly, no matter how many times I see it. I wake up every day with a smile on my face.”

“I think you did that already, seeing as you were never unhappy before.”

I bump him with my shoulder, making Little Drew giggle in his high-pitched voice as he reaches for his father. Andrew takes him and tickles his belly, Little Drew’s giggles getting higher and more exuberant.

Smiling so big, my cheeks hurt, I say, “Yeah, well, my smiles are for you two when I wake. Everything about my family makes me happy. I love you both so much.”

“And you know we love you. Forever, Pickles.”

“Forever, Scrooge.”

We kiss to seal our love, Little Drew between us, grabbing our cheeks. I love my family so much. More than the holidays that brought us together.

THE END
