Okay, so that must be the main bedroom.

There’s one remaining room I make my way to and as I get into the doorway my jaw drops at the king-sized bed, large walk in closet and bathroom that appears to be shared with the other bedroom.

The room’s outer walls are entirely windows, covered in the same motorized blackout curtains, with a door off to the side.

A click behind me sounds out as the curtains begin to rise, pouring light into the room. Glancing over my shoulder, Darian leans against the door frame. His features are soft, relaxed even and my eyes linger on him for a long moment before I move to the windows.

The door leads to a railed off patio that hooks around the length of the bedroom, with a generous sized hot tub on the end. A couch along the windows faces the city below, with a long table in front of it.

“You can sleep in here if you want, I’ll take the other room. We will have to share the bathroom if that’s alright with you.”

My eyes flick to his, “You don’t want the master?”

He tosses me a genuine smile that sends my heart fluttering in my chest, “I’m good with the other one, it’s right across from the study and I can do some work from there while we wait for Caspian’s next set of coordinates.”

I glance once more around the room and then to Darian, as he waves dismissively and leaves before dragging my carry-on to the walk-in closet. Putting away my meager selection of clothes, I toss myself into the enormous fluffy bed with a deep sigh.

I must have fallen asleep because I jerk upright to movement on the bed, relieved when it’s just Val looking at me with both ears perked.

“Are you coming in here to nap too, or did you intend to wake me up?”

Val huffs and looks toward the door.

“Ah, my furry alarm clock.” I tease and push to my feet, stretching my limbs fully before moving down the hall, leaving Val as he curls up to sleep.

He just wanted the bed for himself, I bet.

Halfway down the hall, I glance around out of force of habit and my body stills as I pass Darian’s room.

He’s standing in the center with a pristine white towel hugging his waist. A fresh set of clothes spread on top of the bed in front of him. His black hair falls around his shoulders, still dripping water and on full display are his detailed tattoos spread across his sun kissed skin like a living canvas.

There’s a life-like, iridescent, black-scaled dragon with eyes the color of molten gold along his right shoulder blade. Its wings are spread but curled as if halting in mid-air, with white and red fire jutting from its mouth toward his spine. Opposite to the dragon is a silver raven with bright violet eyes that looks as though it’s in flight and about to collide with the flames of the dragon. Along his spine, below the two creatures who appear to be locked into battle, there’s a tattoo that looks identical to Val, staring directly at me with his light hazel eyes and dark fur. The resemblance is uncanny.

Beneath the mystical looking creatures, is a swirl of ice, water, earth and shadows, begins to encircle the three as if creating a deadly tornado of elements threatening to envelop them.

The canvas slowly turns and the incredibly detailed artwork I’m admiring is gone, replaced by impressively corded muscles along his abdomen and his broad chest. More tattoos trace from his neck down his shoulders and arms. They aren’t depictions of any battles orcreatures but almost look to be a ribbon-like design with some kind of symbols tattooed within them. These markings trace down his chest and abdomen to the deep inclined V around his hips. My attention catches on the two protruding veins that clearly display before disappearing beyond the towel.

A deep chuckle snaps me back to reality and my thighs instinctively clench together as desire pools in my core.

“Oh my god.” I breathe and slap my hand over my mouth, but it’s too late and my eyes regretfully flick to his.

Darian tosses me a knowing grin, “Not a god. Just very, very blessed by them.” he says with a wink and my cheeks burn.

“I’ll be in the other room.” I mumble out, and I’m positive that I’ve turned as red as a tomato as I hurry into the living room.

Traitorous body.

It’s a few minutes later when Darian comes in, fully clothed. “I assume you wouldn’t mind going out for dinner and snag a few drinks? The shower is all yours now.”

His smirk hasn’t left his face, and I’m nearly positive I could die of embarrassment here and now.

Why the fuck does he have to be so hot?

Not trusting words, I nod once and hurry off to the master bedroom to grab clothes. I opt to wear a simple black halter dress with a light cardigan and hop into the shower.

By the time I’m finished getting ready and entering the living room, I’m no longer red, but my body hasn’t calmed down any. I have to keep my focus on breathing through the nervous butterflies that flutter around inside me as he takes in my appearance.

There’s a look in his eyes that makes my entire body hum with excitement and I find myself craving it like a woman starved.
