Oh, she was full of shit. How did she know to kiss up to his ass? He loved that kind of carrying on. Uncle Jasper chuckled as Uncle Storm smiled. “Yeah, ’cause my wife fire. It was nice meeting you.”

“Same. Maui is a wonderful student.”

“She is, thanks to her mama.”

“I’m surprised you admitted that,” I added.

“If I didn’t, I’m more than sure one of you would have,” he said, then fake coughed out, “Jasper.”

I chuckled as Uncle Jasper pushed him out of the way and shook Yendi’s hand again. “It’s nice to meet you, and Ashanni gets every good thing from her father. Her mother is a smart, fine ass hellraiser.”

I slowly shook my head as Yendi laughed. “Nice meeting you as well, Mr. Henderson.”

Once she sat, I did so as well, as my uncles walked away, going back to their seats. “This is a nice diner. Thanks for lunch.”

“Mm hmm. You knew I would be here, didn’t you?”

“Not for sure. So how are you related to the Hendersons?”

“My mother is one of their older sisters and part owner of the diner.”

“The one who fixed your food, right?”

“Yeah. You smart as hell. I see what you did here. Versus getting the side of me you saw the other day, you wanted to see what I was like around my family.”

“Actually, no. I didn’t know this diner belonged to anyone you were related to.”

I twisted my lips to the side as she chuckled. I discreetly watched her titties slightly bounce as she did. “Our family owns nearly every business in town. I believe you already knew that.”

She tilted her head to the side as she rested her fork. “What makes you think so?”

“You been around Maui and Ashanni for an extended amount of time. I’m more than sure they’ve told you quite a bit about our family.”

She chuckled. “They did, but they didn’t tell me that the owners of this place were your mom and aunt, just family. I was actually hoping to see you.”

“Well, baby, all you had to do was call and you would have seen as much of me as you wanted to see.”

She blushed as I opened my container and dug into my cabbage. “Oh, that looks delicious.”

I glanced over at her plate to see she had Aunt Jen’s stuffed chicken, red beans and rice, and greens. “It is. What is the chicken stuffed with today?”

“Mac and cheese. She stuffs it with other things?”

“Yep. Aunt Jen can stuff it with almost anything you can think of. She’s done greens, mashed potatoes, yams, you name it.”

“Wow. That’s amazing.”

“Mm hmm. Why are you off already? School ain’t out.”

“I’m the librarian. Fridays are half a day unless I want to stay. Had Maui and Ashanni wanted to stay late, I wouldn’t be here.”

I nodded as I stuffed my face with pork chops and rice. She went back to her food as well while I watched her not so discreetly. After she swallowed, she asked, “Can I ask you about yourself?”

I nodded, hoping this shit didn’t get too deep where I would have to shut her ass down. This was already deeper than I originally thought it would be. I ate more food as she stared at me. “How old are you?”

I put my hand over my mouth as I chewed my food, and said, “Thirty-three. You?”

“Thirty-three. I figured you were about my age or a little older. I noticed a couple of gray hairs.”
