She was panicking. She slid off me and was about to get out of the bed until I pulled her back. I was in shock somewhat, but whatever happened, just happened. “Yendi, calm down, baby. It’s okay. Last night and this morning had us both sensitive. It’s okay. You may not even get pregnant. I mean… I do have Henderson running through me and our shit potent as fuck. You saw all the kids running around at the baby shower. So my suggestion is for you to get your mind right. I’m gon’ help you with that shit too.”

She took some deep breaths as my phone rang. It was eight o’clock so I knew it was probably Ali. Yendi stood from the bed and got it from my pants pocket on the floor. I didn’t even charge that shit last night. I had a one-tracked mind… making love to Yendi. When she handed it to me, I said, “Thanks, baby.”

“Hello?”

“What’s up, man? I’m about to head that way. The entire crew is going to roll with me.”

“Okay. How many of y’all should we expect?”

“Including me, nine.”

“A’ight. Let get myself together.”

“A’ight.”

I ended the call and got out of bed as Yendi snuggled back under the covers. I quickly texted Uncle WJ, letting him know that they should be here by eight thirty, but we would take them around to the rice, hay, and grass fields first. By the time we got to the boardroom at the barn, it would be nine. Once the thirteen of us joined them, the barn would automatically go into party mode, thinking an event was happening. That was the only time more than twenty people was there at once.

After quickly showering and getting dressed, I made my way to Yendi. “I’ll be back in a couple of hours, baby. You gon’ be good alone? I can call Jess to come hang with you until I get back.”

“I’m okay. I’m gonna go back to sleep. Hopefully you will be back before I get lonely.”

“Okay. We can go get lunch or something.”

“Okay,” she said and puckered her lips for a kiss.

I obliged her a few times then made my way out the door before I ended up naked all over again.

“This is Shyrón Berotte, part owner of Watchful Eyes, and he’s also an attorney. That’s how we skate around shit. This is Jericho Marcellus, Chad Berotte, Seneca Roberts, Rondo Simpson, Dinalee Simpson, Jungle Patterson, and Vegas Knight. Jungle and Vegas live in Houston so they primarily handle that area along with Seneca,” Ali said.

I nodded and everyone shook hands as I introduced my family. “WJ Henderson is our CEO, and our board members are Jenahra Wothyla, Chrissy Douglas, Kenny Henderson, Jasper Henderson, Chasity Henderson, Tiffany Semien, Storm Henderson…”

“MayorStorm Henderson,” Uncle Storm interrupted.

There were heavy sighs from the family and a slight smirk from Ali. I slowly shook my head then continued. “Philly Semien, Marcus Henderson, and that’s Nesha Guilman on Facetime. Decaurey Franklin is also on Facetime over there. I’m Jakari Bolton, the CFO. So, the siblings started running the business some years back, but they had some issues with a jealous muthafucka named Reggie. I’ll let Uncle Kenny fill y’all in.”

I took a seat at the table and put hot sauce on the breakfast burritos Aunt Jen and my mama had prepared for everyone. Thankfully, I probably wouldn’t have to say another word. I planned to listen and eat my belly full. Uncle Kenny, Aunt Jen, Aunt Tiff, Uncle Storm, Uncle WJ, and Uncle Marcus all gave the rundown on Reggie’s punk ass. The only ones he hadn’t personally fucked with was my mama and Uncle Jasper. That didn’t matter though. You fuck with one, you done fucked with us all.

“Sound like that muthafucka fucking wit’ y’all from the grave,” Shyrón said.

“Hell yeah. Honestly, I just want y’all to take Tyrese out, but I know we have to find out who all is involved first,” Uncle Jasper said.

Ali nodded. “Dinalee and Rondo are going to stay out here in Nome. Rondo is familiar with rural areas and since Dinalee is his wife, she gets to stay too. I’m gonna float around. Y’all have a lot of property, and I wanna make sure everything is covered. I have a tracking device on Tyrese, a nigga named Kelvin, and another one named Creed.”

“Creed?” Decaurey asked from Aunt Tiffany’s phone.

“Yeah,” Ali confirmed.

“Fuck. That’s my bonus daughter’s brother. He can’t know Angel is connected to this.”

This shit was getting way to deep. “I’m letting y’all know now that if a muthafucka cross me, I’m shooting first and asking questions later,” Philly said. “If they’re innocent, they were too fucking close to action they had no business in. Period.”

“Nigga, you still the same, huh?” Jungle asked and chuckled.

“Hell yeah. Minus the drugs and shit,” he said, glancing at Aunt Tiff, his sister-in-law.

He knew Aunt Tiff would report back to her husband Ryder, and he didn’t want no shit with his older brother, even at their grown ass ages. There were laughs and surprisingly, Uncle Storm didn’t have anything smart to say. Ali seemed to have a good plan in place to catch these fools. He said he had a few guys that worked off contract, so he would be pulling them in as well. We would need all the help we could get to diffuse of this situation quickly.
