After gripping my ass, he said, “I’m glad you’re mine. I’m glad this pussy mine too.”

I smiled lazily. “I’m glad too. I can’t wait to see how much closer we will become.”

I assumed he forgot he shot all over my back, because he ran his hands right through it as he caressed me. “Aww shit.”

I laughed then grabbed his hand and sucked his fingers clean. The frown on his face as I did so let me know that rough sex was loading, and I would be screaming out my pleasure shortly. I couldn’t wait either.

CHAPTER 15

NATE

“Nigga, what’s up? You good?”

“Yeah, I’m cool, J. Sorry I haven’t gotten back. Listen…”

“You ain’t gotta say. I’m a smart-ass nigga, and I’m a Henderson. We peep shit real quick like.”

I huffed. I’d just gotten to my house in Dallas to get ready for the next game. I stayed in Chicago for two days then headed out so I could practice with the team. After this game, the post season would be starting. I also had a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning, to be reevaluated. I was more than sure I would be fully cleared.

Kenya and I had enjoyed our time together. After I got over my pitiful feelings about what she told me, I respected her more for even saying anything. She could have kept that shit to herself. That let me know just how strongly she felt for me if she felt guilty about her ex comforting her during that situation. However, I felt differently about it at first.

I was pissed that she shut me out and let a nigga she had a restraining order out on comfort her. My mind was ready to take me on the same journey it was on before talking to her the day before. We were moving too fast, and she was still hung up on her ex. Jessica had again popped up in my head, not in a way that would make me want to call her but thinking that Kenya was like her. Kenya would go back to him and leave me heartbroken just like she had.

I was glad that I was able to see the bigger picture. Knowing the circumstances, even down to how they were seated, had helped me. He was sitting next to her. She needed comfort from somebody… anybody. He just happened to be the closest to her at that moment.

“J, it’s just that whenever I talk to you, I think about her. While I feel like she’s leaving my heart, I want to make sure she’s completely gone. I spent the past couple of days in Chicago, spending time with Kenya. I wanna love her… even more than I loved Jess.” I paused for a moment, then asked, “How is she?”

“I get it, Nate. She’s okay. The baby is good too. They are already out and about. She asked about you too. I could tell it bothered her that you didn’t respond to her, but I know she understands. I think she still feels guilty about the pain she caused you.”

“Well, I’ll have to have a talk with her so she can let that shit go. I would rather do that in person, though, so she can see the sincerity in my eyes. Kenya and I are progressing quickly, and I know it will only be a matter of time before I fall for her. Our chemistry is even stronger than the chemistry between me and Jess. Whenever we meet, it’ll have to be a public place though, one where Brix and Kenya are there.”

“I think I know the perfect time then.”

I frowned slightly. “When?”

“We were talking about going to your game.”

“Naw. That won’t work. Kenya can’t be there. She has studio time scheduled.”

“Well, did you get the message from Noah?”

I’d completely forgotten about that. I’d been so wrapped up in Kenya I forgot to check the message. “I did, but I forgot to check it. What’s going on?”

“He’s giving TAZ a surprise party. He invited all the Hendersons to Baltimore. So you know we going up there country hood style and set that place off.”

I chuckled as I thought about their country asses in their boots and shit, fucking up the place with those bad ass kids, not to mention Mayor Storm. “When is it?”

“In two weeks after his tour ends, when y’all will be playing the Wizards. So, you’ll be in the area. I believe he took your schedule into consideration.”

“Damn. Okay. Kenya didn’t say a word about it.”

“She may not have known just yet. He said it was sort of last minute.”

“Okay.”

“Well, it was good talking to you. I’ll back off some and let you reach out when you’re more comfortable, man. I appreciate you being honest with me.”

“Always, man. You’ve been a good friend to me. Before we go, how’s Yendi?”
