“Oh. I'd like to try one of those sometime.”

He yawned again. “You want to try everything, huh?”

“Not everything. But I am really interested in these bubble baths now.”

“You're so cute, Nova,” he said sleepily.

“What's cute? You've used it before, I think.”

“Hmm. It's like a reaction people have toward a puppy or kitten. You're so innocent and excited about the simplest things. It's so endearing. More people should be like you. I wish I was more like you.”

“That's because you don't know all of me.”

“Then tell me,” he said lazily.

“There are different layers. It's like I'm not always the same person.”

“You’ve seemed all the same to me so far.”

“I wasn't. Not even today. It's hard to explain.”

“Mm, you can explain it to me when I'm more awake then.”

“Franky?”

“Mm?”

“You think you can show me what a bubble bath is when we someday maybe meet?”

“Sure.”

“Franky?”

“Yeah?” he answers, his voice shifting again.

“Do you think we can eat pizza together too?”

“Yeah. Sorry if I fall asleep. I'm struggling to hold my eyes open over here. Aren't you tired?”

“Yeah, but I'm a little too wired to sleep.” I stretched my legs out on the bed and tugged off my pants.

“What usually helps?”

“Singing to myself and staring at the stars on my ceiling,” I said.

“You have stars on your ceiling?” he asked.

“They aren't real. I was told they're glow-in-the-dark star stickers.”

“Ah. Yeah. Definitely cute. Do you listen to music?”

“During the day. I wish I could at night but it's not safe.” I frowned.

“That's no fun. I'm sorry. What about headphones and an MP3 player?”

“What are those?”

“Something I think you'd love. It's a way for you to listen to music without anyone else hearing it.”
