He huffed out a laugh. “It's not my fault you feel so good everywhere.” He sucked my neck, creating new marks. I still had some left from a few days ago. I was worried about them fading and now he can replace them anytime I need him to. They thought they could keep us apart and I proved them wrong.

I grabbed his face and covered his mouth with mine. We kissed and played with each other's bodies for hours until we were in need of more food for energy. Franky ordered Chinese food and we ate naked in bed. He only put on pants to get the food and took them off as soon as he returned to the room. I stayed where I was, waiting for him while I played some music.

“You really like this song, huh?” He nudges me with his elbow, taking a bite of his Mongolian beef.

“I do. It's a good song. Makes me feel happy and as if I really am dancing in the moonlight.”

“We really can be.” He said, smiling at me.

My heart jumped. “Really?”

“Yeah. That back porch I had put in last year should be used for something.”

“Are there stars out there?” I perked up.

“Not yet but there will be soon. Then we can go out there and I can spin you around all the light in the sky.”

“I can't wait.”

We did too. As soon as the sun went down, we were outside, eating dinner on the back porch. The sky grew dark and the moon showed up before all the stars sprinkled around it. It was beautiful. It really did exist outside of movies. I got all this proof this wasn't a dream and now I'm starting to think I need more.

“Beautiful, huh?”

I smiled at him, wiping my mouth with a napkin. “Yeah. Everything out here is.” I hooked my ankle around his and he slid a foot on top of mine.

After we were done eating, Franky played my new favorite song and dragged me to the middle of the porch. He held onto me tightly as we spun around under the stars and moon. They were both breathtaking but Franky was still my favorite light standing out against the night's sky.

Nova scoots lower on the couch, reaching for my hand. Three days and we haven't been apart for longer than a few minutes. I'd called into work sick. I did miss my patients but I knew I'd miss Nova more. I kissed his sweet lips. They always taste like syrup. Pancakes were an appetizer with every meal for him at this point. Gah, he was so damn cute. I loved having him in my house. It was nice having a reason to be home. I moved by waking up next to him and being able to say good night in person. I love him. Maybe I hadn't known him long but I didn't care. I didn't get a choice with anything when it came to Nova.

“You never asked again about how I'm here?”

“I figured you'd tell me when you're ready.” I kissed him again. It never got old, and felt more like a chore not to.

“I created another portal. I probably shouldn't have but couldn't figure out another way to get to you. I also didn't think it would work. I'd never done it before but watched Leland do it plenty of times.”

“There's a portal in my closet?”

“Yeah but don't worry. It's not out in the open or anything. It's in my cabin behind a curtain.”

“This means we can go to your house whenever we want?” Excitement stirred in me.

He lifted a brow. “Yeah?”

“So I can see where you live and sit out in your garden with you.” It was a statement, not a question.

“Yes. But why would you want to do that when we can stay here?”

“Because it's a part of you. And don't you have a pet to feed?”

He laughed, his eyes brightening. “Ollie is more than capable of taking care of himself and so is Girl. Plenty of food sources around the house. They prefer to hunt their food anyway.”

“Okay, on second thought, maybe we should stay here.” I chuckled and pressed my mouth to his for probably the millionth time today. I was going to keep doing it for as long as he allowed me to.

“Don't worry, they won't eat you. They like smaller creatures.”
