"Hey! Roman, don't play with that!"

"Don't worry about him." Maryam chimed, picking my 11-month-old baby from his crib, and rocking him gently. "Just go, okay? Dad is waiting."

I sighed. Being a mom hadn't been easy, but I loved it. Part of the reason my experience was mostly positive came down to the people around me. Ron became Superman, doing so many things as my boyfriend from when I got pregnant to after I gave birth to our son, Roman. The maids and guards also helped a lot with chores and buying stuff the baby or I might need. Maddy, whenever she was around from school, became my best friend and got so attached to the baby. She barely ever left his side, constantly reading him books and playing with him.

Speaking of Maddy, her ailments had gone almost completely. She still went through some tough moments here and there, but it seemed that those were normal and not attributed to her cumulative conditions. I couldn't be happier for her.

My album had done well, much better than anticipated, and I heard Frank Dover was currently in a fight with Coen Records after Ethan was charged and imprisoned last month. His trial lasted roughly 15 months.

At this point, things couldn't be better. I got into the car and Dean drove me to a location where Ron said he wanted us to have dinner. What a loving man I had in my life. I rarely left the house ever since Roman was born, so this excited me, but the mystery of the place and everything made me nervous a little.

We arrived at the beach around 5:30 p.m., and I was out, gasping. Ostensibly, Ron had rented a portion of the beach and put roses leading to a table where he sat, with the other chair free. I stared at Dean in disbelief, but he just smiled.

Ron got up and waited while I walked to him. Damn, something like this had never been done for me before.

"What is this?" I asked after reaching him and hugging him.

"This is what it looks like; a representation of my love for you, though nothing could ever be enough to show you how much you mean to me, Maryam." He kissed me, grabbing me as if he couldn't get enough. Fuck, so good.

"Oh, my God. You're gonna make a girl overwhelmed." I could feel my cheeks burning up.

Ron moved the chair for me to sit before seating. He ordered food and the waiters brought it for us. I still could not believe I was in such a situation. I ate with someone I truly loved and loved me back while we talked about the path we had gone through together.

After the meal was done, he clapped.

"Oh, no. I'm full."

"This is just desert," he explained. The two waiters came with plates covered with stainless steel bowls.

I took out the cover and gasped. Oh, my God. How did I not see this coming? An open box with a diamond ring rested on the plate. By the time my gaze went back to Ron, he was already getting one knee next to me.

He grabbed the box and faced it in my way. "Maryam Carey, I've known you for over two years now, and during that, we've gone through a lot together." I already started crying. The influx of emotions my way couldn't be described. "I thought about doing this earlier, but there was always something. You were pregnant, then we had Roman, and things were stressful, but we got through it together, and I feel now is the appropriate time. So, Maryam Carey, will you-"

"Yes! Yes! I will be your wife from now till the end of time!" Not even letting him finish, I jumped from my seat and hugged him, kissing him with as much love as I could muster. Ron looked like the happiest man alive.

"You didn't even let me finish," he mused as he put the gorgeous ring on my finger. I instantly heard screaming and roaring and turned, only to find Maryam, Drew, and some of the guards and maids by the edge. They must have followed us.

The tears continued to flow. I looked up at the man who won my heart, his piercing eyes and wavy hair, and I could remember the first day I met him.

"I love you, Ronald Razor."

"I love you, too, Maryam Carey. Thank you for coming into my life."

To be able to go through the complexities and austerities of life with someone who is always at your back and your front and your side… there exists no greater fortune than that. Love is magical.
