I kept a straight face but felt so much stress inside. The time right now was around 8:30 a.m. I had to wait for three hours to see her. Now, this began to get annoying. I hadn't met this woman yet; she roamed my mind. At this point, I needed to take a firm stance. No woman is going to make me lose my focus.

"Dude." Drew brought me back to Earth. Did I even listen to anything he said?

"Yeah?"

"Okay, what is going on with you?" Drew asked, looking at me, a bit worried. "Are you sure you're okay, man? Need to go to the hospital?

"Do you think I'm a kid?" I responded. "I'm fine. Just send her."

"I'll do my part."

"You mean you're probably just looking and observing while I talk?"

"Exactly. That's why I work so well." I smiled.

Drew left, and I thought the wait would be easier if I did some research on what Frank had been saying about us in the meantime. It wasn't. The longer time went on, the angrier I became. I didn't even have a good reason to be angry. I just got upset that this woman had infiltrated my mind. Meanwhile, she barely knew me. Being a man who battled a lot in the industry, I didn't like giving another person this much power over my happiness and thoughts. Eventually, the time came, and I got to meet Maryam Carey.

Drew came into my office, very excited; that has become the norm for the day, I guessed.

"They're here."

"You mean her and the manager, right?"

"Agent."

"Okay, cool." I got up from my chair, trying to act relaxed but deep down, I had a raging curiosity to meet this woman in person who had left such an impression on me even before I ever laid eyes on her in the flesh.

I followed Drew as we went to the room where we'd have the meeting. Immediately Drew opened the door, two ladies turned around. One of them, I didn't recognize, but the other was none other than Maryam Carey. Her eyes lit up upon seeing me. To me, she only felt that way because she wanted me to sign her to my record label. I needed to be careful and not let her beauty sway me.

And my goodness, she sure looked great. Maryam had striking blue eyes that almost made me unable to walk further into the room. I couldn't believe this. How could someone have eyes this blue? Her pink lips bent and stretched into a beautiful smile, the kind of smile that would light up any room. I just kept staring at her as I walked to sit opposite them.

"Ronald, this is Carmen. Maryam's agent." He introduced us. Carmen stretched out her hand for a handshake. Maryam looked so taken aback that I didn't smile back or give her some sort of acknowledgment, but at this point, I just tried to survive. She had too much of an impact on me, more so than I thought she would.

"Hello." I shook her hand before sitting down.

"And Carmen, this is Ronald, the CEO of Ronald Razor Records."

"As the name implies," Carmen added with a smile, earning a chuckle from Drew and a partial smile from Maryam. "Everyone knows you. It's an honor to meet you, sir."

"Oh please, you don't need to call me sir. Just call me Ronald. Okay?"

"All right, and I'm Carmen, as you already know."

"Yeah."

Drew proceeded to introduce me to Maryam, who was evidently nervous.

"And this is the Lady of the hour, of course, Maryam Carey." She stretched out her hand as well for a handshake, which I accepted.

"It's great to meet you," she said, less enthusiastically than Carmen. It felt strange the moment our hands touched and mine wrapped around hers. A bit longer than necessary, as we stared into each other's eyes.

So, you're the one that captivated me so much, I thought. I wanted to say that but decided against it.

"Your singing was great," was what I said instead, nodding as we detached our hands.

"And of course, Maryam, this is the man, the myth, the legend, Ronald Razor." I rolled my eyes at Drew's pageantry.

"Thank you for having us," Maryam said. She kept looking around. I could tell she came from a place unfamiliar with all this.
