“I should go,” I hook a thumb towards the door.
He reaches out and grabs my wrist. His fingertips are gentle. “No, you’re already here. My plan was to read case files in bed,” he says, smiling wryly. “Whatever you’re doing here isdefinitelymore interesting.”
That’s my entrance.
I stare at his face, trying to muster up the courage.
This has been the best week of my life, I think.Sex with David is better than anything else I’ve ever done. This is not going to ruin that. This is not going to ruin everything.
As far as pep talks go, it’s got its issues.
But unless I want to call Alice on the phone while David waits in his insanely fancy foyer, it is the only pep talk I’ve got.
Taking a deep breath, my hands go to the belt, cinching my black trench coat. His eyes don’t even dart there yet, still kind and respectful on my face.
Not for long,I think gleefully.
I unwind the knot, and my trench coat opens. I drop my chin and tilt a little to one side, letting the material of the oversized jacket start to fall a little over the curve of my bare shoulder.
It’s the most seducing I’ve ever done, and if David doesn’t respond to it in the next twenty seconds I am going to actually die of embarrassment?—
His eyes fly to my body. Now that the trench coat is falling away, more and more of my skin is revealing.
I can see the second he registers that underneath my coat, I’m only wearing the new lingerie I bought for him.
Or, well, Alice bought it for me to wear for him.
David’s eyes widen. I watch in fascination as his pupils swell big and black. His mouth parts and a punched little gust of air comes out of his lungs.
“Laura,” he breathes out my name, like it was trapped inside of him.
I drop the coat the rest of the way so that it pools around my feet. I fight the urge to fidget. Instead, I stand there, waiting.
I can see a reflection of myself in the grandfather clock right behind David.
The color of my skin is flushed, pink and streaked with red. It’s a line between embarrassing and confident, one that I’m toying with carefully.
The lingerie that Alice bought me contrasts with the pink, a vivid green. The bra cups me gently, the wires pressing my breasts up and together in a delightfully attractive way. The material flares out at my ribs, separating at my belly button. It’s not quite a babydoll dress, but it’s similar in shape.
The panties don’t leave anything to the imagination. I’m trying not to think about it too much.
“Laura,” David repeats. I smile, aiming for confident.
His eyes finally find my face again. His expression is exactly as trapped as I’d hoped it would be.
He moves fast, like a snake, curling around me in one fluid motion. David backs me up against the wall, not hard but enough that it presses our bodies together. His fingers slide through my hair at the back of my neck. His other hand grips my waist. One of his legs nudges between mine.
He kisses me.
He moves desperately, his lips and tongue working hard and fast. He explores my mouth like he is looking for something in particular like there’s something that he wants, something he needs.
I kiss him back just as hard. I try to meet him, inch for inch, hit for hit. Though there’s nothing violent here, all desperate consent and eager agreement, there is something ferocious. We meet like two animals, pawing and pressing our weight against one another.
David’s hands roam everywhere. They move up and down my arms, down my waist, across my chest. He cups my tits, and flicks my sensitive nipples with his thumbs. Occasionally, his nails graze the hardening nubs, and it sends a bright and hot spark of electricity through my spine.
I’m crazy for him. I can feel it, this frantic energy that I don’t know what to do with, bubbling beneath my skin. It’s closer to panic than it is to anything else I’ve experienced.
Everything with David feels new. It feels like I’ve never been touched before, never been kissed, never been fucked—he makes me feel like everything is fresh and shiny and new, like I don’t know what’s next even though I do.
