‘It was seven thousand, seven hundred and thirty-eight dollars. I kept a tally,’I said before another snotty cry escaped me.

I felt a rumble rising from his chest. It sounded like he was in pain or like he was holding in his growls, so I looked up to make sure he was alright. He was in pain, but from trying to stifle laughter, and I was so confused by it that it stopped my sobs instantly. He looked at me one more time, and I had no idea what he saw in my face, but he lost it. This rugged, serious man, who I thought would blow up when he heard how much we spent, started laughing like a hyena. I got up from his lap, and he doubled over, holding his stomach with one hand and my hand with the other, laughing uncontrollably, filling up the little changing room with his beautiful sound.

The snorts coming out of his mouth surprised even him but he didn’t stop the laughter. My confusion grew, but I couldn’t help the smile that formed in my mouth when I saw this god-like man snorting. He was in tears by the time he was finally able to control himself, and he tried to push his dark brown hair away from his face. I tried to pull my hand away, still confused.

“Come here,” he said as he pulled me back to his lap. “I told Kelly not to stop until you bought at least ten outfits for every occasion. You two have zero clothes. I don’t want you to feel like you are lacking anything ever again. I want to see you happy, spoiled and eating full meals until you can’t fit into the clothes you bought today, and then come shopping all over again. Seven thousand doesn’t mean anything to me when it means you and Maya start having the life you were meant to have,” he explained more gently.

“Not to mention he’s loaded. Seven thousand is pennies,” Kelly added behind me.

“Thank you, Kelly.” He rolled his eyes and looked at me again. “You are my mate. I want to give you everything you’ve been missing for the last eleven years. Please allow me to give you this?” I hesitated but nodded, and my stomach growled, making him laugh again when my face heated.

“Come on, you guys can come shopping again another time. I think you probably shopped enough for one day. Let’s go eat,” Markus said while he stood us up.

“Uhhh, we technically already ate, but she was just playing with her food,” Kelly said, and I blushed deeper. “How about we head home, and you take her to eat, Alpha? I’ll make sure all her stuff gets left in her room”

“That sounds like a plan. Thank you, Kelly. Maya, I hope you got all you needed.”

“Yes, Alpha, thank you so much,” Maya answered a little shyly.

“Come on, my little Tuli, let’s get some meat in your belly,” he said, offering me his arm.

Celestewrappedherarmaround mine after I dismissed everyone. I took her to the food court, and although I wanted to take her to a fancy restaurant, I remembered she mentioned she never ate takeout food, so I led her to a fast-food Chinese place and settled us in a booth. The little noises she made while eating were almost too much for me, and I felt my cock twitch each time a little moan came out of her mouth. I didn’t trust myself to touch her right now, so I did my best to focus on my food and not look creepy while I stared at her.

“You’re barely eating,” she said. I took a bite of my food and grinned at her.

“I’m sorry I had a breakdown. I thought you would be mad at how much money we were spending. I guess I didn’t realize that money wasn’t important to you.” She frowned.

“But?” I prompted her to continue.

“We were never allowed control over our lives, food, money, or clothes at Blood Moon. We’ve worked for nothing and got even less than that. I will take this gift, but I need to pull my weight. I need to work,” she said with a look of determination I admired.

“You are the luna—” I started.

“Not for two months. I can’t do anything for two months. I don’t want to be a burden. If I am to be luna, I need to be productive,” she argued, making Atlas puff his chest out proudly.

“What did you have in mind?” I said, holding her hand. She looked surprised that I agreed so quickly.

“I want to talk about what my duties will be as luna.” She looked down as if embarrassed about what she would say next, so I squeezed her hand encouragingly. “I want a tutor. I learned basic math and reading skills before my parents died, but we weren’t allowed to go to school. I don’t want to be a useless, undereducated luna. I would like to have the schooling I need to be a competent luna.”

My heart exploded with love, and I pulled her to me and slammed my lips to hers. She stiffened in surprise but soon after returned my kiss with as much enthusiasm. This little ball of fire was my world, and I would do everything in my power to show her. I eventually stopped the kiss, needing to breathe, but I placed my forehead against hers when I pulled back. She was breathing fast, and I could smell her arousal through the muddled smells of the food court that now paled against her intoxicating scent. I brushed my lips against hers slowly, unable to keep away from those enchanting lips.

“Is that a yes?” She giggled after I pulled away again, making me laugh and steal a quick kiss.

“That was a, hell yes. I will make the call and have someone teach you. Do you think Maya will want the same?” I asked.

“I think so. We always shared the few books we could find discarded.” She smiled.

“You like to read?” I asked, wanting to know more about her life even though I knew most of it would make me want to go rip Alpha Geoff’s head off. She smiled and nodded while she ate more Chinese.

“I also want to cook again,” she said.

“But you don’t need to cook.” I frowned.

“But I like to. You liked my food, didn’t you?” She pouted.

“Yes. It was some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, but love…” Her pout protruded further, and I sighed. “Once a week?” I tried to compromise.
