‘We should just run away together. There are too many people here,’she answered, and I laughed through the link.
‘I want everyone to see that I’m the luckiest wolf alive to have you by my side,’I said.
‘You sure know how to take the fight out of a girl,’she whined humorously. ‘I will see you in three hours. I love you.’
‘Love you more,’I said as we headed to Gillian’s floor to get ready.

“Kelly,canwebedone? I need to pee!” I complained.
“Fine, go pee, but we’re not done!” she warned, and one of the girls working on my hair let me up. Kelly decided she wanted my hair straightened for the ceremony, and two of the hairstylists had been tackling a side of my hair. We were almost two hours in, and they still had about a quarter of my hair left to do. Naturally curly, my hair reached my butt, but the length of the hair they managed to straighten went past my knees. Kelly opted to do her own makeup so her stylist could help with Maya’s hair. My makeup was being done by a third, who would then do Kelly’s hair at my insistence. Kelly wouldn’t initially hear my complaints about her being left out, saying she didn’t matter as she wasn’t in the ceremony, but I had a gut feeling she’d find her mate tonight. She finally stopped fighting me, so I would let the girls get to work.
Thirty minutes later, I was deemed ready for the ceremony, and the girls began working on Kelly. I went into the walk-in closet and slipped on the dress. When I came out, I finally grabbed the letter from the dresser and sat on the bed to read.
Celeste, my little piece of sky,
The day you were born, I had a vision. This isn’t typically my power, but I believe Selene allowed me to tap into yours. I saw your luna ceremony. I saw the beautiful, strong Luna you will become. I am so proud of you, my daughter. As I watch you grow, I see glimmers of the woman you are to become.
I also saw that your father and I were not at the ceremony. Only one thing could have kept us away. I am sorry you will lose us. I hope you know we would have done anything to have been there. Stay safe, trust your mate. He looks like a good man. I know the future ahead is going to have some rough moments, but you can overcome anything. Find your allies. I know you can put an end to what has plagued our bloodline for so many generations. I hope this day is everything you hope for. Know that your father and I are, and always will be, proud to be your parents. You can always find us in the wind and in your heart. Give them hell, little one.

“Celeste? What’s wrong?” Maya asked as I blinked several times, making sure I didn’t cry. Maya and Kelly were looking at me with concern visible on their faces.
“Nothing is wrong. I was just reading a letter my mother left me with the dress,” I said, feeling Markus pull on the mind-link, probably to ask the same question.
‘I am fine, love. Just emotional today,’I told him before he could ask me anything. Markus signed and grunted but let me be, and I was grateful for his understanding.
“Do you need a moment? We only have a few minutes, but I can ask Mom to wait?” Kelly asked, and I shook my head. I put the letter on my nightstand and put my nude wedges on.
“I don’t need to wait to become Markus’ luna,” I said. Maya smiled warmly at my words, knowing the journey I took to get to this point, and hugged me tight.
‘I’m going crazy waiting to see you, Tuli,’Markus’ voice filled my head.
‘Just a little while longer, my love,’I said.
“Luna, Maya, It’s time. Mom’s ready for us,” Kelly said.
Maya wrung her hands nervously, so I put my arm around her shoulders.
“Danny’s jaw will drop when he sees you,” I assured her, making her smile and wrap an arm around my waist.
The hairstylist had gathered her hair upwards with a delicate band around the crown of her head, her bangs delicately flowing down the side of her face. I let her borrow the amber jewelry I picked up from the deposit box. It looked beautiful on her and matched her dress. Her makeup was a smoky yellow and orange ombre with nude lips. She looked stunning, and Danny was one lucky wolf.
Kelly’s hair was elegantly swept to the side. She applied metallic green and black eyeshadow that looked like a masterful, shimmery oil spill. Her bright red lips and dress made her look like she was headed to a red carpet event.
I had a gold and black ombre eyeshadow and maroon lips. It complimented my tanned skin and dress. When the light hit me just right, I looked like I was on fire.
We headed down toward the first floor, where Mrs. Quinn was waiting for us. She smiled and teared up when she saw us.
“You look like angels. Gorgeous angels,” she cooed, then she giggled. “The boys are going to lose their shit.”
We laughed at her choice of words, and then she got right down to business.
“We have about two hours before the sun sets and the moon begins to rise. We have a wall temporarily set up on the right side so you can take your place behind the stage area. We don’t want anyone to see you before the ceremony. Maya and Danny will be called up first. Luna, you will be allowed to watch from the side of the stage. Alpha Markus will be on the other side of it, so he can’t peek.”
