“Only about fifteen minutes or so.”

Monique closed her eyes, wanting sleep to come.Don’t be foolish. She felt good, but she was coming down from her subspace high. Logic and reason were about to start winning.

“I think I’m worn the hell out.”

“I’ll say. Me too.”

“You did it… what? Four times?”

“Somewhere around there.”

“You’re amazing.”

“Only around you.”

Monique pulled against her collar, her breath slightly cut off at that angle. Helen unlocked it for her and let it fall to the floor, the silver and diamonds flashing in the bedroom light. “I feel so dirty. Not complaining, of course.”

“You are delightfully filthy right now. Would it be uncouth of me to say that I’m admiring it? I wish you could see the extent of it.”

“You should be proud. No woman has ever done this to me before.”

Helen said nothing, but Monique knew she lifted her ego with those words.

“Come, love, we need to get you cleaned up.”

Monique resisted the attempt to get her to sit up. I don’t want to. She wanted to continue lying there, in Helen’s arms, feeling the heat of their bodies and basking in the glow of what her Domme did to her. To give that up meant going back to reality. Areality that was full of terrible, bitter people and a world outside of them.

“Monique.”

Helen stood beside her, hands taking her again, but this time in an attempt to lead her to the bathroom. Monique continued to resist, the euphoria of subspace still too wonderful to leave. Tears rolled down her cheek. Tears she could not control.

She stopped trying.

“I don’t want my Princess getting sick.”

Monique buried her face in the pillow. Why won’t she cuddle with me?She wanted Helen to consume her again. To keep consuming her until there was no hope of returning to the real world. She wanted to be a part of Helen until her dying day.

It was the only way to keep the euphoria – and feeling euphoric meant certain people couldn’t hurt her anymore. So when Helen scooped her arms beneath Monique and only struggled a bit to pick her up, Monique felt both comforted and irate. Her Helen held her, but she took her away from the pleasures of their bed and to another room to be cleansed.

“Don’t fight me, Princess,” Helen grunted softly. Monique floated through the air, the room spinning until she had to close her eyes to keep from getting sick. “I’ll protect you. We’ll take a long bath together. This week is all ours.”

Monique rested her head against Helen’s shoulder and felt herself carried into the bathroom, where steam from a bath already waited for them. She was propped up against the tub, Helen delicately removing Monique’s corset as she came in and out of subspace.

“Trust me.” Helen stroked her knee, her cheek, and her hand, giving her a new charge of endorphins that made her smile again. “Do you trust me to take care of you?”

Monique nodded.

She didn’t remember any of the rest of the night. She was too retreated into the back of her mind, where all she had to worry about was when she could go to bed and be wrapped in Helen’s arms again.

Chapter 29

Plans in Paradise

They spent the next few days on a private island somewhere in the Caribbean. Of course, there were plenty of people on the island. Wait staff. Transportation experts, with their seaplanes and boats. Suppliers with boxes of fresh fruit and salted meats. The island was not inhabited year-round except for the occasional groundskeeper maintaining the place, but while Helen and Monique were there, it was a veritable bustling village from dock to vacation house.

The beach was for themselves. A hammock hung on a deck overlooking the bright blue sea, and although Monique spent a good amount of time in it alone, Helen often joined her in between phone calls back to the States. Monique had turned off her phone, but Helen didn’t have such liberties, even on her collaring honeymoon.

On the day before they were due to return home, Monique spent some time reading the newspaper in the hammock, thequiet splashing of the waves keeping her head level as she read about tragedies around the world. Here in paradise, they didn’t seem possible.
