“Yes, and she was there!”

“No!”

“Yes!” I drop down into the chair and stare helplessly over the table at her. Keeley gets up, carrying on with my abandoned job.

“What are you going to do?”

“Well, I slapped him. She threw a drink at him and told us to fuck off,” I groan.

“But he kissed you?” Oh hell, Keeley is lapping this up. She’s almost salivating. “Didn’t you two used to date?” she murmurs.

“Years ago.”

“So he still has feelings?” Keeley states, filling our cups with hot water.

“What! No!” Her brow lifts, and I slump in my chair.

“You still have feelings for him too?” Her voice softens. She brings our drinks over and takes a seat opposite me. Groaning once more, I drop my head in my hands and hide my face on the table. This is a disaster.

“I don't want to,” I admit. I'm drunk. I need to stop talking. Like right this minute. “He wasn’t supposed to be here when I moved back.” I sigh. “Why did he have to be here? Why is he so hot?” I complain.

“He really is ridiculously gorgeous. Dan, too. Those two are like the only threesome I’d ever want to have.”

“Keeley! God, you kinky bugger.”

She giggles and lifts her cup up for me to clink.

“What a mess,” I muse.

“Hot mess. Cameron Stone has got the hots for you still.” She grins over the table at me.

“He cheated on me,” I admit in a shameful whisper. Her mouth drops open, and I shrug. “It was a long time ago, but I don’t think he’s trustworthy. In fact, his actions tonight back up how unfaithful he is.”

“Yeah, that is a dick move.”

“Dick and ditch,” I mutter. How many women has he gone through to earn that title?

“Yeah, I heard that too.” She eyes me cautiously.

“Wham bam?—”

“Thank you, Cam,” we say in unison.

“I don't even know him anymore.” I shake my head in despair. I can't believe he kissed me in front of half of Richmond. In front of his girlfriend. How disrespectful. How cruel.

“He has a bad rep, if I'm honest with you. Lots of rumours too, but it doesn’t stop women from fawning over him,” Keeley imparts quietly. Oh, I bet. With nicknames like that, who wouldn’t be shrouded in rumours and reputation. He’s a walking slut. I can't get over that he suggested I was. I haven’t even slept with anyone since him!

“Good job I got away then,” I muse. “I'm going to go to bed,” I tell her, standing wearily. I should have seen this coming. Cameron and I have too much left unsaid for it not to detonate. “Feel free to grab the spare room.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, it’s all made up. Help yourself. Thanks, Keeley.”

Chapter Fifteen

Holly

We’re having breakfast when Emily rings my phone. “Hey, Em, I’m sorry for just skanking you last night.” I didn't even message to say I arrived home safely.
