I twist enough to pull Holly round and place her with her back flush to my front. The parcel was on the doorstep when we returned home not long ago.

“What is it?” She stares at the cardboard box and cranes her neck to look over her shoulder at me.

“Open it.” I hug her waist and drop my chin on her shoulder as she opens the lid, unsure of what to expect. Shredded paper hides the gift, and she quickly delves her hand in and pulls it out.I grin when I see the image, and she gasps. It’s a photo of when we were in our teens. Fresh faced and not battered by years of pain. “Turn it round.”

She twists the cup and reads the personalised message, and begins laughing heartily. “Cameron’s personal Olympic trainer,” she says, running her finger across the words, chuckling. “I love it and I am. You’re my protégée.” She grins, twisting to kiss me.

“God, I can’t wait to be inside you later.”

“I thought I was too unwell?”

Gripping her arse, I lift her onto the side and yank her forward so I'm wedged between her thighs. “If last night was anything to go by, you can handle more of me.”

“Do you promise?” she murmurs, giving me big seductive eyes.

“What do you think?” I nudge my cock, and she smiles.

“I think you’re already at Olympic standard, Mr Stone.” She reaches to cup me and squeezes me when she says my name. She’s right; I'm rock fucking hard.

I grip her thighs and slant my mouth over hers. “I love you.”

“I love you,” she whispers softly. “Kiss me again.”

Guests start arriving, and Holly looks to me emotionally when Jeremy walks through the door. He rushes over and gives her a big hug. “How are you feeling? How’s Beau?” He looks round for her, and I point to the snug where she and Grace are giggling in the corner. “Jesus christ, Hol, you gave us all a heart attack.” There is no doubt in my mind this man has feelings for my girl, but I'm confident enough in us to not let it bother me.

“I know, sorry. I'm okay. Cam’s looking after us.” She smiles lovingly at me, and I soften, pecking her temple.

“Remember what I said. If it gets too much for you or Beau, just say the word.” I wink cheekily at her.

Jeremy frowns. “And what's the word?”

“Olympic,” we say in unison, and he frowns.

“Drink?” I ask, trying to steer him away from Holly.

“Sure, what have you got?” He looks around, clocking the guys and Kerry, and stiffens. He was a rat in school and I know he was seen leaving with Holly the night of the party. His refusal to help me locate her only ensured our general dislike for him. We’d hoped finding Holly would prove my innocence back then, although my solicitor said it would still be Sarah’s word against ours. Holly was my girlfriend at the time, so it would seem as though she was defending me on that basis alone. Both Jeremy’s and Holly’s dads refused to help me. It hurt at the time, but they were protecting her, and I don’t blame them. Emily sees Jeremy and waves, making her way over.

“Beer okay?” I say to him.

“Please.” As soon as I step away, I hear him ask Holly if we’re an item. He’s hardly going to fight me for her, the bloody idiot. I collect us both a beer. Emily is standing with them when I return, and they are discussing a book. I hand over Jeremy’s beer.

“I’ve been meaning to read that,” Holly says. “I know I keep asking you, but how's the shop?” She winces at Emily. It may have only been a few days that Holly was in hospital, but two people offered to help in the shop whilst she was unwell. I'm pretty sure with the number of customers she has, she will need to keep one on, or maybe both. It's something we discussed this morning. I'm so proud of what she is achieving.

“Honestly, having Claire and Rita has been a big help. I’ve kept up with the books and Danielle has helped me with small bits. Keeley has been amazing too.”

“Okay, good.”

“Hol, just focus on getting better. The shop is not going anywhere,” Emily assures.

I slide my hand into the back jean pocket, using it to leverage her into a twist to face me. “Baby, stop worrying,” I say. She smiles and I drop my face in her hair. “You smell amazing.”

“Stop.” Holly shrugs me away, embarrassed, but I know she loves it. Her eyes sparkle, and she pinches my arse discreetly. I grin into my bottle and Emily marvels at our little moment.

“You two are glowing.”

Holly shoots me a shy look, and I pull her into my chest and nip her earlobe. I can’t get enough of her.

“She’s the love of my life,” I say with pride, not missing Jeremy’s hand tightening around his beer.
