At first, the omega inside of me was confused, jolting me to go back, but when the alpha started to pick up his pace after us, warmth spread through my entire body.

She liked to be chased.

Iliked to be chased.

I put a hand to my head as I tried to rearrange my thoughts back in the right order because right now, they were on the road to crazy town.

“Hey! Wait up,” the guy laughed as he jogged after me.

The cool air felt so good against my skin after being stuffed together with everyone else where the smells were too strong and too… Ok, there was no denying just how gross being in that house was now that I was away from it.

“Omega,” the alpha whispered, leaning around my shoulder.

I paused and blinked at him before I twisted around and started walking again. I don’t why, but that was the only thing he had to say to me? It made my heart ache.

No. Stop it.What is even happening right now?

I put a hand to my head as if to check if my brain was still there or if that too had been washed away with all my common sense after drinking juicy jungle juice or whatever Shelby called it.

“Wait up! Why are you running off?”

“I’m not running. I’m walking. And clearly, it is to get away from you.”

“Why is that?”

“Because, alpha,” I said as I leaned away from him, feeling bold.

He laughed loudly. “I’m sorry. I get it. I shouldn’t have called you your designation. I don’t know you, right? You just took me by surprise. You just smell like…”

Like?It was considered slightly rude to comment on someone else’s scent so casually, but something inside of me was begging just to know what I smelled like to him.

He cleared his throat. “It’s not every day on campus I casually run into an omega. I thought you were supposed to be off in some faraway castle somewhere.”

“Waiting for my one true love?”

Could it be possible that this alpha blushed? “Something like that.”

“Well, I’m not.”

“You’re not like any other omega I’ve met before.”

I perked up. “You’ve met other omegas?”

“You haven’t?”

Not really. Once I think, years ago. But as he said, they were kept away from most of society. They did their own thing untilthey were older and a part of a family or whatever it was their alphas let them do.

“I’m Jacob by the way.” He shifted on his feet, as if suddenly, painfully shy.

“Jacob,” I repeated.

“Jacob Matthews,” he said. “Or Jake. I don’t really have a preference. Do you have a friend back at the party I can get for you? I can give you a drive home?”

“No.”

“No?” he asked, more confused.

“I’m good. I’m just back on campus…” I turned around. We must’ve walked farther than I’d thought.
