Humor as well as devotion radiated down my bonds. From all of them.

“Are all of you okay?” I asked. Worry started to form inside my stomach. “You must’ve missed nearly a week of class and practice.”

“Don’t worry about that at all,” said Silas. “It’s covered.”

“But it is important.”

“You’re more important,” he insisted.

I glanced back at Leeson and Jacob. They only nodded. “He’s got this conversation covered.”

“But—”

“We’re all fine. More than fine.”

Leeson scooted himself up until he was at my side. His hand ran back and forth up my thigh. It was only then that I realized I was still mostly naked aside from the blanket I now reached to slightly cover myself even though I doubted there was anything these men now haven’t seen of me.

“Being with you for your heat, bonding with you was one of the best days of my life, Vera. You’re one of us now. We’re pack. That’s what matters. What we should be asking is if you are prepared to take on us,” said Leeson.

“We can be a handful,” said Jacob with a wink. “But I always know where the good food places are no matter where we go.”

I breathed a laugh shaking my head. The past few weeks had gone so quickly, but sitting here surrounded by my alphas? Nothing ever was more perfect. More right. And I felt so blessed now that I got to do it with these three alphas no matter what happened.

I was safe. I was wanted. I was in love.

I was completely, one hundred percent enough.

The warmth down the bonds confirmed it.

“So,” said Silas. “Ready for what’s next?”

“What’s next?” I asked.

Leeson smiled.

So did Jacob. He fell back, taking me with him as he wrapped his arms around my center. Silas only smiled, maybe the first real honest smile I had ever seen from him.

“Everything.”

Epilogue

10 YEARS LATER

“And this pack is something to watch out for. It hasn’t been the norm for packs to be traded into teams in a long time, but this group of players is bringing pack life back to team life when it comes to the National Hockey Association,” announcers went on. Their voices bounced out of the speakers and into the hockey arena.

It was hard for them not to mention my pack no matter what was going on during a game. Leeson was one of the best goalies they had ever seen on the west coast and Jacob and Silas were never far behind in the headlines.

I was now post-game with my phone pressed against my ear while Shelby read me the live chats going on about the game as if I hadn’t been there for the past few hours in person. I let her go, liking to hear her voice now that I was no longer on campus with her. Not that it stifled her active social life that she was only adding more clubs to, I was sure. She decided to learn French this past semester.

While she talked, I pulled out my laptop I had been keeping with me for these sorts of moments while I waited for my guys in the lobby to finish up a few final papers now that I had been taking classes towards my goal was to eventually work closelywith universities one day to provide access for any omega there to have a fair shot should they want it with spaces they were not so alone, and with their heat.

I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen yet, but it was a dream.

No one had yet to tell me it was impossible either.

If they did, I was pretty sure Silas would’ve slapped them upside the head before providing me with new news articles he came across every morning, only making me feel like I did have something to offer. A sense of purpose I was finally working towards a study in gender and designation studies as well as a minor in business I could finish on my own time online as I traveled and saw everywhere with my pack.

“Ugh. It was such a good game,” my friend finally finished her rant with a sigh in my ear. “You’re still happy, right? I’ll be on a plane to see all those hot hockey players if I must, Vera. You say the word and I will come, get some numbers, and then bust you out of there.”
