His dark hair was damp from a shower and his sweatpants were slung on low. My eyes wandered to the edge of them where I could see the start of a V leading down…

My attention snapped back up to meet his eyes. Only he was staring back at me with more than simple amusement in his smile. “Did you sleep well? You sounded like you did.”

Immediately I wanted to scoff. “I don’t snore.”

“Didn’t say you did. But wouldn’t it be cute if it was true?”

Who in the world would find snoring cute? It was painful to listen to and also was a sign of possible underlying health problems…

“Your friend is trying to leave, Jacob.”

“Without saying goodbye?” He raised a thick eyebrow as he headed into the small kitchen with Leeson. He reached for a mug, still smiling. “Bad form, omega.”

“Don’t call me omega.”

“What else am I supposed to call you?” he asked. “You wouldn’t give me your actual name last night when I asked.”

“I didn’t?”

Jacob glanced over at Leeson. He quietly watched the exchange. “She drank the punch.”

“Ooh,” he grimaced.

“How was I supposed to know that it was mainly alcohol?” I asked.

“Everyone knows that.”

Everyone but me.

“I figured you didn’t go out much.”

I rolled my eyes. “It doesn’t matter. I have to go.”

“It’s Saturday. Calm down. It’s not a big deal. We didn’t do anything if that’s what you are worried about. You just wouldn’t tell me anything, so I figured that coming here was as safe as any place for you to sleep it off,” said Jacob.

Here? With alphas? Yeah, that was a place as safe as any for someone like me.

My disbelief must’ve translated into my expression.

“Not going to lie,” said Leeson softly. “Jake here doesn’t have much experience with omegas.”

Jacob scoffed. “Like you do.”

“You know my mother is an omega, you idiot,” muttered Leeson.

He rolled his eyes.

I narrowed mine. “Your mother is an omega?”

Leeson’s, less bushy than Jacob’s, eyebrows pressed down above his eyes as if the question was odd. “Yeah.”

“Oh.”

“Shocking?” he asked, letting a bit of confusion enter his tone.

“No.” I took a step towards the counter, a little closer to them. I tried not to breathe too deeply into their scents. Even though I reallyreallywanted to. “I never met a lot of omegas before.”

“But you’re an omega,” said Jacob.
