“I didn’t mean to fall asleep.”

“It’s okay. I was going to wake you up, but I figured that it would be alright if you spent the night. I texted Shelby for you.”

“You did?”

“I figured you’d want someone to know where you are. You don’t mind?”

I shook my head. “Thank you.”

“Want to get up for some breakfast? We have a little over an hour before we should be on campus for class. You have a nine-thirty, right?”

Jacob really must’ve been stalking my class schedule.

Slowly, we peeled ourselves out of bed. Leeson was still in the clothes he was in last night, while I… I was naked aside from my bra. Both of us looked like wrecks.

Leeson looked over his shoulder as he stretched. “See something you like, omega?”

“You could’ve changed last night to sleep. Or you could've taken off your jeans.”

He shrugged. “I didn’t ask if that was okay with you. It’s no big deal. I don’t mind.”

“I should’ve done something for you.”

“Trust me,” Leeson assured. “You did. Let me get changed and get some food in you and we'll get you back to your dorm. Did you want anything to wear?”

“No. I’m good with my stuff for now,” I said, reaching down to the floor where I found my jeans flopped in a ball.

Watching as I shook them out, it was as if he couldn’t pull his eyes away, shaking his head as if to snap himself out of it.

It felt sort of nice. More than sort of nice.

“Let me know if you change your mind,” he said, pulling out clothes from his drawers and quickly getting ready for the day.

Once we were ready, we walked back down the hall that seemed just as quiet as it had the night prior. I almost asked if anyone was home before Leeson reached out and tucked me into his side as he fished through the fridge. “We have eggs or toast if you want. Also, protein shakes.”

I scrunched my nose.

“Thought not.”

My omega wanted to hum with contentment. Or no. That was a purr.

My hands flew to my chest as if that would help cover the sound. My panic, however, did just fine.

“Are you kidding me?” Jacob’s voice cut through the kitchen with a barking laugh. “I was the perfect gentleman, not evenkissing you last night, and he’s the one who got you into his bed first?”

My cheeks burned. Leeson only pulled me back against his chest from behind.

“Don’t be an ass, Jake.”

“I’m not. Honestly, I’m just happy,” he said, reaching out for me. I giggled as I passed between the two alphas.

Jacob kissed me on my cheek.

Someone bumped into us hard, sending me and Jacob a step forward into the kitchen. Turning to my side, a tall unmistakable alpha strode past us towards the fridge. His eyes locked on mine for a minute, a cool striking gray.

It felt like my breath had escaped my lungs as I stared at him.

Dark hair was cropped short over his ears. And his scent. His scent.
